Let me tell you what not to do in Thailand. Don’t play with Thailand Immigration rules and regulations, and make sure you are on the correct visa, without overstaying, while you are in Thailand. Thailand Immigration police have little sympathy for your visa problems. You are responsible for making sure you follow all the Thai immigration rules, including Thai visas.
Do not take a chance with Thailand’s Immigration system. You can be fined, jailed, and/or deported for violating any immigration rules. This applies to both expats in Thailand and tourists in Thailand.

  1. I remember when my flight back home was cancelled. It was on the last day of my visa which would expire on 11:59 PM on that day. The airline booked all the passengers on the flights in the next day. My flight was suppose to leave at 5:45 AM the next day. When I went to immigration counter the next day to get the exit stamp, I was taken to a cell, where I was grilled for 45 mins. They categorically said that it’s none of their business that Lufthansa cancelled their flight. I had to be aware of the fact and should have left Thailand before 11:59 PM. The fact is that I was on holiday and didn’t want to keep my phone on because I would be keep getting calls on my vacation. But that turned out to be a nightmare. Immigration was blaming me that I didn’t keep my phone on, which is true, and hence I missed the msg from the airline about the cancellation. I didn’t have any overstay record, in any country, and I overstayed in Thailand by only 4 hours. So what you mentioned has a lot of truth in it, in fact it’s the truth. Merry Xmas!

  2. Merry Christmas JC🎄
Always best to play by the rules of the country you are in, and yes saying “I’m ___ (fill in your country) I have rights” makes no difference to them, they have enough people that follow the rules that they don’t need the ones that don’t.
    Great advice JC 😎✌🏼
