  2. Rather be safe than sorry just in case this happens

    Death of a U.S. Citizen
    Home | U.S. Citizen Services | Death of a U.S. Citizen
Death is a time of crisis for family and friends no matter where it takes place.  When the death of a loved one occurs overseas, the experience can be even more traumatic.

In the unfortunate event that a U.S. citizen dies in the Philippines, we can help you make arrangements for return of remains to the United States or for burial or cremation in the Philippines.  There are, however, no U.S. government funds available to cover any of the expenses involved.  The family or legal representative must pay all funeral home charges and shipping costs for the remains and personal effects (if applicable).

Please report the death of a U.S. citizen in the Philippines to us as soon as possible.  Consular staff will notify the next of kin, if necessary, and carry out their instructions regarding disposition of remains.  Depending on the circumstances, it might take until the next business day for us to provide additional information.

To report a death of a U.S. citizen in the Philippines, send us an email at ACSInfoManila@state.gov that includes the information listed below, and include “Death of a U.S. Citizen” in the subject line.

Full name of the deceased U.S. citizen.
    Date and place of birth.
    U.S. passport number, if known.
    Last known residence, if known.
Date, place, and circumstances of death.
Name, address, email address, and telephone of the next of kin and/or any relatives, if known.
Whether you and/or family members/legal representatives have been in contact with the Philippine authorities regarding the death.
The U.S. Embassy will issue a Consular Report of Death Abroad based on the Philippine death certificate.  This document is necessary to settle legal and estate matters in the United States.

While the best way to reach us is via email, you may reach us by telephone, if necessary:

  3. I’ve heard in other videos that in order for a Filipina to bring her children with her to the US (or anywhere) when her children has a Filipino father that he needs to approve the children leaving the Philippines. Is this still the case?

  4. After my Philippina and I were married in Hong Kong we went back there for a visitor visa (the USA website said we had to go where we were married), we brought a large amount of documentation of our true and deep relationship. They would not allow me in the embassy or her to bring the large folder in. They denied the tourist visa based on the interviewer saying “things are changing”, this in 2018.

  5. I’d like to know from Ken: If I was to marry a Filipina in the Philippines, as an American, can I apply for the spousal visa while I’m still on Philippine soil? I’d like to stay with her until it is approved. If I can, would this be under general USCIS 7-9 month processing?

  6. If you get divorced to the Filipina in the EU and you were married for less than 3 years, she will be deported, provided you don’t have children together. Therefore, you are not obligated to support her.

  7. What is the absolute must to be included in a prenuptial agreement with a Filipina? Is it required for her to have a copy of the prenup in Tagalog? Should she have representation? Can prenups be airtight ?
Is it recommended to only get married in the Philippines or get married in both the USA and the Philippines? If married in the Philippines is a ceremony required or suggested in the USA ?

  8. I suppose one issue that could come up at the interview is if they ask Filipina how did they meet and then the Filipina says a dating website, or service. And yet that information has not been previously disclosed in the stateside application.

  9. I’m married to my Philippina bride and we have a daughter now who is six months old. Sadly I’m 100% disabled and don’t make the poverty guidelines requirements. What can I do?

  10. My own rule of thumb, for handling a marriage case in the US, is that they need to have known each other for at least four months before getting married. I’m not sure that I’ve applied that in the fiancé setting. But I always ask for 50 to 70 pages of texts, printed out. For fiancé cases that is. You can copy and paste the text thread into a word document, for example. At the top of the first page I will print it out document you can write WhatsApp or whatever.

  11. So, 2 points.
    1) it is 40 quarters OR until the spouse gains US citizenship. Once she becomes a citizen you are off the hook…
    2) If you divorce before either, you are not responsible for 125% of the poverty level. (If you barely qualify at 125%, how would you be expected to give her all of your 125%)
No, you are only responsible to pay any welfare or food stamps or other government subsistence that she is getting from the government.

  12. I think divorces happen the most at five years which is good and bad news. The good news is it the Filipina is probably a US citizen at that point and so the US citizen is off of the hook as far as the affidavit support is concerned. The bad news is, well, you’ve lost your Filipina.

  13. What are the ages of the attorney and his Filipina wife please? Has she made acquaintances with other Filipina’s in the US ? Is he at all concerned about their influence?

  14. Thanks for starting to share this I’m just starting to watch it now. This is really going to be great so far what I watch This is great I’m glad you shared again
