After COVID-19 lockdowns started in many parts of the world, major cities see a drastic drop in air pollution. This was specially noticeable in New Delhi India, which recorded 60% fall in air pollution since the beginning of the lockdown compared to its 2019 level. We interviewed Anumita Roychowdhury a leading environmental expert from India and Executive Director of the Center for Science and Environment. She explained to us how the pandemic has affected the environment, and in particular, air quality in India.

  2. India has lost vast swathes of forests due to growing p0pulation and urbanisation in recent decades, as a result- Endangered elephants and tigers are k.illing one person a day in India as humans continue to encroach on the little habitat that these animals have left. ~
The government of India should implement a 1 child policy to help decrease pollution and preserve the habits of endangered animals.

  3. Why was India so damn filthy anyway? It shouldn’t have taken a engineered virus to have you get your act together. Children in India have been born and grew up with defects for the longest.

  4. “13 out of 20 most polluted cities in the world are in India.” – I had always thought China leads the score board! Or maybe China fakes those data as well…

  5. As I’ve often heard, diseases such as pandemics like this covid19 virus actually is really the way for nature to become healthy once again, much like how white blood cells are eradicating those things destroying it.
Many people would not really care about this issue of air pollution until they are hit directly by it. I just hope people who consider themselves civilized will be open minded as we tackle these health and environmentally related issues.

  6. the biggest joke are all people saying 2020 is a disaster year for the world….
this year is the best year for the world, aside for human the whole earth was recovering

  7. what about garment industry which also contributes to pollution from coloring to final products as we know India is prominent by its garment. And what about during deepavali festivals? I went delhi right after diwali and thought it was fogging due to its cold weather but soon found out that was heavy pollution

  8. *Why don’t you talk about the elephant in the room… CHINA!! Will they permanently ban consumption of exotic wildlife especially BATS & PANGOLINS in unhygienic conditions??* 🤔

  9. Chemtrails full of chemicals world-wide. This is born from boeing engines and USA to make a claim saying USA TO OWN WEATHER AS A FORCE MODIFIER. Look it up. Nothing will change in India as greedy ones control everything. They have no empathy builtin to the souls.

  10. I have watched many videos of animals reclaiming the streets all over the world. The pictures I have seen from India, with elephants, peacocks, and civot cats roaming empty streets, takes my breath away. And to think, we dare to call ourselves “civilised”, but Mother Nature has proven to us that our “civilisation” is incompatible with the order of Nature. Only Mother Nature is Queen. We humans are but filth. This lockdown must serve as the most valuable lesson of all: we must respect Mother Nature and all her children. We humans are animals too, and we must respect all the animals and plants in the world. We are capable of a radical change to our collective behaviour right this very moment. If we don’t radically change, Mother Nature will be pushed to her limits, and she will not forgive us.
