There are many places in Thailand to get scammed out of money. Will you get scammed in Krabi or Ao Nang Beach? The answer is no, in my experience. Krabi and Ao Nang Beach are often referred to as, “Tourist traps.” Tourist traps in Thailand are places where torist are often scammed by local businesses. However, During my time in Krabi, I did not experience any scammers. No one tried to rip me off, or over-charge me for anything. In fact, I found the people in the area of Krabi and Ao Nang Beach to be friendly and helpful. Therefore, I recommend you put Krabi and Ao Nang Beach on your list of places to visit when you travel to Thailand.

  1. There’s scammers all over the world so you just have to be a aware and ready for them if they turn up. Glad you had a ckear run JC a great place to visit. Bushyboy Oz

  2. Totally agree. In my experience (granted I’ve only lived in Thailand for 3 years) I’ve never been ‘scammed’ but I have over paid for some things. These days that’s usually the worst thing I come across, people just overprice their services/products so I just move on to something that is a better deal.
The big scam you gotta watch out for is when someone makes you feel like there’s only one option for something. There’s always a variety of options and yes the ‘farang’ option will be twice as expensive but probably twice as comfortable if you’re a ‘farang’. Great Video JC Cheers!
