  1. Just back from the Philippines and already aching to return, spent most of my time working on our 2 hectare plot and just loved it. Hope to make the move permeant within the next year, love your videos and look forward to many more.

  2. It’s amazing how cheap the fresh fruit and veggies there are in the Philippines . I think that alone makes a big difference in how you eat . My wife is from Siquijor , by Dumaguete. I never been there yet , but she said it has beautiful beaches . Great vid Henry .

  3. Enjoyed this video! My wife and I are planning to move to the Philippines and what you are saying is so true. When I was there before, I lost about 12lbs in 2 weeks and never felt like I was going without food. It’s nearly impossible to lose weight here in the US and I look forward to getting this weight off once we finally get moved there. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Cali, and safe travels back “home” to Bohol!

  4. Yeah, I did notice you put on a couple of “holiday pounds” haha!  A raw juice fast / detox every so often works very well for me. I’m still pretty young (I just turned 50)but have arthritis pain in my hands and knees … juicing makes that pain go away and any extra weight just flies off … I feel 30 again.  Safe trip back to Bohol Henry.

    1. A doctor friend of mine originally told me about juicing and I was a skeptic … but not anymore.  FYI, there’s a fantastic documentary that you can view for free (with commercials) on Hulu.  It actually reversed a serious auto-immune condition and enabled the filmmaker to stop taking his meds (very high doses of Prednisone).   “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” by Aussie entrepreneur Joe Cross … there’s also a lot of info and recipes on his website. I recommend that anyone reading this post check it out when you have an hour or so to kill … it could be life changing for you. 🙂

    2. @LifeBeyondTheSea – Philippines I like that idea, too.  What will you use to juice in the Philippines?  Also, I don’t eat meat at all.  Not even  fish or chicken.  I am making protein shakes here with berries and protein powder.  Can I get protein powder there?  What about nuts, any kind of nuts and beans?

    3. I am a huge fan of juicing/blending.  Last night I just made a blend of cranberry, kale, spinach, pear and carrot.. awesome stuff!  Full of vitamins, fiber and zero fat.  🙂

  5. Sounds like you have it nailed dietary-wise. I lost my weight by giving up what I call
“the white stuff”: No sugar…No flour…No potatoes…No white rice, ie the ‘simple carbs’. The complex carbs on the other hand…the fruit and vegetables definitely yes, as in good. Other than that I pretty much eat what I want, when I want. It’s also good to be aware that if you are counting carbs you can subtract dietary fiber gram for gram in your carb count. Also, the walking that you do is huge. I walk six miles a day and Love it. BTW, IMO dietary fat gets a bad rap. Here is some well researched evidence in that regard. A wonderful book…

  6. In a way, I kinda wish I was back in Homeland, and perhaps set aside a morning or afternoon  at Lake Perris for some bass fishing with you.  I think I would enjoy your company.  As I’ve mentioned before , My wife loves your videos and it gets her all inspired to go back to the Philippines. (Our last trip out there was in spring 2006).  We never left Luzon but did a lot of traveling within the Island.   Anyways, we are planning to go back later this year and would like to visit other Islands as well.  Look forward to meeting you and having lunch or dinner in Bohol or Cebu.  Lord knows I need to lose some weight.  LOL

    1. And I still haven’t been to ‘5 Guys Burgers’ yet.  ha!  I had an In-N-Out double-double/animal-style my first week here.  🙂

  7. I love your talks . do u still raise piggys in cebu and did u get land prices there. ,My nepthews wife has family there and in leyte. I plan on buying land through her.

  8. Walking is excellent. Fish and chicken is much better then meat and also have a look at cocking instead of frying, both vegetables and chicken and fish. If you use spices it’s totally OK. You don’t want to get there with bad health and have to sit inside the house all day because of bad health and obesity.
