RIDE AROUND INSIDE THE OLD CLARK AIR FORCE BASE – WHATS OPEN – WHATS CLOSE – G.C.Q. PHILIPPINES

Today I took a little ride up on the old Clark Air Force Base to see what is open and what is closed during the General Community Quarantine. Also I stopped by some of my favorite place on Clark just to revisit them.

  1. Hey Brian dumb question but in your editing software are you able to lower the motorcycle noise and yet keep the voice over in the video? If you have a way to direct IM me it would be great thanks.

  2. Love your videos on Angeles City and Clark. I remember being on a MAC flight that stopped at Clark enroute to Saigon and Bangkok in 1974. We were not allowed off the plane, a World Airways contract flight. Always regretted that, did not get to AC until late 1990s.

  3. Hey Brian, thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures, very much appreciated, regards and best wishes to everyone there, from Australia.

  4. Nice to get a peek of the former ex-Clark AB. I’m ex-AF from a time when the air base existed but was never assigned there. Went to Japan instead.

  5. I really enjoy when you go up around Clark. For one, it is nice to see the greenery and trees. I liked when you showed some if the historical sites. Like the dog cemetery, the old Japanese airfield and shrine, the hospital, and the parade grounds. It always feels less congested there. It would be my choice to live there if I could. Mabuhay!

  6. Brian,. As soon as you entered the hospital my mind was screaming for you to get out of there. I am a nurse and I know for a fact hospitals are haunted with tortured souls. Sometimes they don’t want people there.

  7. WOW, I went to that hospital in August 1982, was very nice back then. What a shame. What time was your ride around, I noticed Pure Gold seem to be closed when you zipped by.

  8. I’ve said it before in the mid-late 50’s my dad was stationed at Clark….he said it was a nice Base…..I won’t say what he said about Angles City though because that wasn’t so nice!

  9. Thank you for boots on the ground. Your gut will never lie to you. If you felt uneasy at the old hospital, better to trust your gut and leave. You and your family stay safe, sane, and healthy from the CHIMMP.

  10. No razor wire, broken glass on fences etc. I’ve always believed that this is used in other places out of habit or custom, not because of necessity. The very rich did it to keep out the undesirables, and it became the thing to do for the upwardly mobile.

  11. CM Recto was a famous Philippine lawyer who was known as the “lawyer of miracles” and and advocate for Philipine independence and rights…FYI😎

  12. Brian did you get a chance to watch that video clip what is going on at the former U.S. Subic Bay? Opo the one that i sent to your fb messenger.

  13. Hi Brian I enjoy yours walkabouts and the Philippines I am an Aussie from down under I my fiance is in the Philippines and when it opens up I will be there I love the scenery traffic looks like a time bomb ready to go off see you later alligator

  14. Hahahah yeah spirits are real, it has seemed to me they know before we do of what’s coming…perhaps those certainly spirits of combat vets know the peace in Asia is maybe coming to an end.

  15. Watching you enter that building creep me out ( and it’s daytime). Dude, next time go in there at night, that will make for a great horror video.😂

  16. Keep the videos coming philly. Interesting information every day /every week. Oh I do miss the old days. Back in 2005 I came to Philippines and had the best holiday ever. I stayed in ermita. Lots of nice bars there at the time. Lá cafe is still there. 👌😉

  17. Thanks for sharing. My wife and I visited the old Clark Air Base hospital in November 2019, your video shows the exact way the driver drove us back the old hospital. We are planning to visit the Philippines in 2021, I plan to be in Angeles City during June 2021 to celebrate my 65th birthday and to mark the 45th anniversary of my first tour of duty at Clark Air Base. Keep up the good work.

  18. Thanks for the ride Brian the hospital was cool and your right how it make you feel. Brian wanted to ask what kinda camera you use when you are out walking thank.

  19. Another very refreshing video.
    Super cool sceneries. Memories.
And Brian looks like a flying
BLUE ANGEL PILOT with the cool
looking helmet on towards d end.
    🇺🇸🇵🇭CLARK AFB is SACRED🇵🇭🇺🇸

  20. Hey Brian , would it be possible to reinstall your standard exhaust system, the one you’re using is very difficult to listen to and it’s not easy to hear you talking, love your videos 👍

  21. It is nice to see my old home again. I lived in the Communications Squadron dorm accross from the current Stotsenburg Hotel on Gil Puyat road. Yes all the street names have changed. I have an old map with the old names on it. I found the old Silver Wing recreation center building on google maps, because the Philippine Air Force guards wont let you drive back in there. It is now the Sector Defense Headquarters building according to google earth. Even the old High Frequency Radio Receiver Site where I worked from 1989 to 1991 is hard to find on google earth. It was between the old eliphonts cage and Hudwon bridge. Now it is the International school and water park areas. Thanks for the video tour Brian. My retirement home is near there.

  22. Thanks for the memory tour Brian. It brings back memories when I was stationed there. The Air Force City sign at the beginning…well on the right side of that leads to the gates for the flightline. The first gate you see on the right side used to Security 36 or in my case, the call sign was Cobra 36 for our flight. Every gate going down was numbered downwards to 30. That part of the road is now being used by the Philippine Air Force, so no civilian cars can go through. That’s why you see all cars going to the left side of that Air Force City sign. Whenever I was stationed at Security 36, my wife would bring my lunch and I would look for the car because at that post, you can see the main road. ✈ ✈ ✈ 😁

  23. Brian, I enjoyed the vlog as I always do, but if I had to think of one constructive criticism, it would be the placement of your new mic. Although the wind soc is very effective and I hear no obnoxious wind noise the sound from the muffler is, loud. The exhaust sound is not overwhelming where you can’t be heard, but seems to compete somewhat with your voice. I think a boom mic, mount would sound much better, than the placement your now using on your chest. The closer the mic is to your mouth the greater percentage of the audio will be from you speaking and less from the motorcycle.

  24. Flew in/out of Clark many times during the Vietnam war but never stayed more than a few days at a time. It’s good to jog up memories of life when I was a young troop, toolin’ around Angeles City in a jeepney with a cooler full of Red Horse. Thank you for the tour

  27. Hi I’m Bob I was Clark back in 1981 for a few months I remember taking a trike from the air terminal he took me to a hotel it was called the encore inn I was in the sea bees and the hotel had lots of foots of old sea bee units it had a small pool and lots of playsets to buy food and bars to have drinks and lots of very friendly people every were I really learned to love the philipins then and still do today you really do live in a beutiful country

  28. Have ya’ll seen this article?!?!?!?!

God that would be so awesome for everyone.
And as always Brian thank you for the content. Your videos during this lock down have contributed to my well being. I, like a lot of people I imagine, was chalked up and ready to start my life in PI May 1st but had to reschedule my flight. I’m holding my breathe for August 1st.

  29. When I was stationed at Clark AFB in 1969-1970 we transported the wounded from Vietnam to that base hospital. It was a very busy place at the time. I was with the 57th aerovav squadron and we had a small office about one block away from the hospital entrance.

  30. I can’t get enough of your motorcycle vids. Every time you go to the hospital, I see the room I was in for about 10 days for an surgical infection I had. Man, it was a nice hospital back in ’76. So I guess I’m a living ghost of back in the day. One of my running crew died there in that hospital from a freak accident involving hopping on the slow moving train that used to pass outside the main gate that went to Tarlac.

  31. Yes very creepy famous haunted hospital in clark ..one the best we have clark airbase on Pampanga when i was young we do picnic with family somewhere inside Clark under those big Akasha Trees …❤️Proud Kapampangan here..

  32.
