Hello Sir, I usually wake up around 7am not 9am , okay ๐๐ป
Yes, 7am today beautiful. Best Dan
Looks great. Cumin is rare in the Philippines. I’m going to try that recipe.
@Vagabond Awake Will do that for sure. Thanks for the recipe and tip. Cheers Dan.
Nice. Let me know how it goes Metal. Make sure to add the onion and sautee it with the other vegetables. Best, Dan
I have a sneaky suspicion, that you just wanted to show us all how hot your girl is… congratulations sir, you broke YouTube today with that awesome shot of her. But hot girlfriend aside, it ooks like you can cook good.
Ability to cook and having a sense of humor make someone a good life companion.
Thanks Finding Food. I love to cook. Cooking healthy food is necessary for a constant traveler like me. If you eat in only restaurants … you can’t control quality. Thanks for commenting. It helps our business grow. Best, Dan
Interesting video. Up at 5-6am? What time to sleep?? Early bird. Great to work out, very healthy lifestyle that you have ๐
4:22 you cross the borders with your bags of spices? Doesn’t customs stop you and think it might be drugs??
@Vagabond Awake interesting, thanks for your reply. Great videos ๐
Never once Gwai. I worry about that but never happened yet. Most of the spices are so obvious that nobody could possibly think it is drugs. But the italian spices could look like drugs for a naive official. I have thought about keeping Italian spices in their original container. Best, Dan
Hey Dan, next time you make your pumpkin soup, cook it with the seeds, then when done you have to blend it and make it creamier. if you don’t have a hand blender or any other, don’t ad the seeds. The reason I add the seeds because of the nutritional value they have.
@Mark Eggener and zinc helps to disrupt the Corona virus… Double positives here! ๐๐
Seeds are full of zinc which is very important for proper thyroid function.
Great idea M. I love pumpkin seeds so not sure why I never thought of that. All that protein! Thanks for the idea. Best Dan
you’re making me hungry
Hopefully you have food Patrick? Thanks for commenting. It helps our business. Best, Dan
Hi , new subscriber, BIG like !!!! Peace โฎ๏ธ
Thanks ๐ Dan
Thanks Doug. Happy to have you! Please feel to give constructive criticism too so I know what you are thinking and ideas of how to improve. Best, Dan.
Nice!! Great edit of steps to make your pumpkin soup masterpiece!
Your home is really beautiful! How nice to cook in that patio, you can hear birds and relaxing!
Qiang Hui- don’t forget to “kiss the cook”!
Raysfla, yes we feel lucky to be social distancing here. She is too shy for on camera kisses. Best, Dan
You should add beans to the meals to get your protein.
Great tip. We ran out of beans a few days ago. We shop next on Monday. Thanks for commenting nL. Best, Dan
Dan I know that you are interested in nutrition. I want to mention that your thyroid will love you more if you switch to coconut oil instead of canola oil. Canola oil is full of polyunsaturated fatty acids, also called PUFA, which is highly unstable. Unstable fats are prone to oxidation. Oxidation leads to free radicals which can manifest itself both internally as in damaged organs and glands and externally as in rapidly aging skin and liver spots.
Was really hoping someone would respond to what temperatures cooking with coconut oil is best. Can you use high temps?
@Mark Eggener I’ve read all of Peat’s content. Do you know where he resides in MX. He probably got tired of the ubiquitous grayness in Oregon. Thanks in advance Mark.
Vagabond Awake it is all in the play of consciousness. Love your work and way of life. I am still working on detachment of material things like my house and cars. When I learn to let go, I can also be free.
Thanks for your thoughts Mark. For me Buddha was just a man living in the grace of present moment awareness. He intended that all people come to know the freedom of living in awareness. To me that awareness feels like being in the presence of god’s energy though I am not religious. I see living things as various animations of god in nature. Once I was living in that experience it felt natural to me to let that animation continue. I don’t feel any loss of god’s animation when I eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, etc. Odd sounding I know. But true for me in a visceral way. Best, Dan
Vagabond Awake PUFA research is a lifetime work of Dr. Ray Peat. I cannot take the credit for it. But I am very happy that I have benefited from his work; I hope you will, too. I also want to mention that both you and Dr. Peat have something in common. Peat retired to Mexico after many years of researching and teaching.
