  1. Yes, I get about 4 months of mail sent to me from my physical address in CA in one shot to here and it’s about 10 days. I like that DHL provides online tracking. USPS doesn’t track anything once it leaves the US. DHL is available at most Pack’n’Mail, postal shops across the country. Meanwhile.. the balikbayan send-off points are usually at the Asian Food markets run by Filipinos. In Las Vegas there’s a big Filipino presence and they have lots of Balikbayan shipment points there.

  2. There are numerous mail forwarding services also. I use Traveling Mailbox – they scan the envelopes and post them online. You can have them scan the contents and send a pdf, forward the mail, or shred it, they even deposit checks for you.

  3. Hey thanks. I want to send stuff to my family (not valuable stuff, just photos and books – my Mom lives in the last tech century) and have had many things stolen and lost in the mail. I might try a mall PO Box after your advice.

  4. extremely helpful again; also, off subject but–do you know what to do about the 220v appliance problem; i.e.; i really want to ORDER a Vitamix blender once in the Ph, as probably not available IN Ph? thx

  5. One item, is for US citizens that receive Soc. Sec benefits like SSI, or SSD.  You must have an address in the country of your resisdence, and each year the Soc. Sec. Amin. sends out a request for updatye of your Address.  If you fail to receive or return this document, then your benefits will be suspended pending the receipt.  Then you must go to the US Embassy, and get a copy of this to have them mail it in for you to get your benefits re-instated.  Just a tip and a hint to keep a legal address abroad if you plan on receiving SSI or SSD benefits.  Hope I made this clear and understandable.  Great work on all your videos Henry.  Thanks my friend.  Darrell

    1. @Alan Blair when you rent a box at the mall, they sometimes charge extra for boxes.. only offering letters to a small p.o. box as their ‘standard’ service. each provider is different so, check with your PH rental box provider first.

  6. Reekay, you would be surprised to find that they do deliver mail out to the provinces. When you talked about surveyors maps, you were right on. The addresses are down to the lot number.Also. as you had said, there are no mail boxes, they will deliver it to your door. It took a month for a letter to get there, but I made the mistake of using regular post. I just wanted you to know they DO delivery to some of the most remote places.

  7. So what happens if I send mail to a province address? I want to send mail to my cousin and I want to make sure it gets there. Their province is in Zambales. I’m new to sending mail to there, any advice?
