  1. Fantastic video mate. what achievement for som well done som! Sometimes you need to push that person it just goes to show how much you love her mate well done you guys should be proud of yourself. Xxxx

    1. Som won’t be riding a motorcycle in 12months she will have a brand new car, until then she needs to understand traffic & understandings of road rules

  2. Embarrassing and humiliating Som like that is bad enough without showing the world that you did it! Tough love is ok but there is no need to announce it! Som I would wrap the bike around is head then drop the prick!

  3. To be free to go where and when she wants; is confidence building in itself .. be careful stay safe always wear your helmet… good on you.. L.A Rib

    1. 100% mate thats what its all about her self confidence & freedom. Hope all is well in LA buddy & stay safe 😍🙏

  4. Close call there Jonny, but I am sure you both will be ok and ride out this (Beer) virus as Chad says. This isolation is hard for us all but the stats in Thailand are fairly good compared to many other countries, Thailand 43 deceased, Hua Hin 2. Stay safe. Yes Chad does some great Vlogs are very funny guy

  5. when my wife came to australia the fist thing i did was get her driving licence then a small car best thing i ever did make life easy well done

    1. @Jonny There Is Something Happening Nice!, about $2500.00. Could never buy a new honda that cheap in any western country; great deal.
I bought a new yamaha in pattaya i think 7 years ago for around the same price.
You did the right thing making her learn how to ride. No excuses for not being able to do a vital part of everyday life. This way you will save money, and she will grow as a person and learn something valuable. I dont understand people who dont drive or ride. Its like tgey are missing out on a huge part of life…..Freedom.

  6. Mate when people buy motor bikes over do they go straight to a black licence, or do have go to “L” plates first?..reason i am asking this is because i don’t see any “L” plates on the bike. I am sure you know that in oz they go— 1 year for Ls ….,,1 year for Red Ps,…,1 year for Green P”s.,,,..then Black licence after that…Thanks Matee…

    1. No license required. Red new plate means bike or car just purchased & after 30 days the plates are transferred into white plates

  7. Definitely needed to learn who to ride a bike she did,so many advantages. Also the best time to learn while there is less traffic due to the virus, she might not realize that now but you have definitely gave her independence. If you need to go back to Australia or you get sick, she will still be able to get around and take care of day to day things. Some people just need a big push to achieve the desired result, just get her riding everyday and build up her confidence. She will thank you for it later on,plus it will make her son feel happy to have his mom pick him up from school. It’s a win win.

  8. With so little traffic due to shut down, good time to gain experience riding. Just need to get her some leathers. 3K Baht can buy a lot of adult beverages once the ban is lifted.

  9. Now you have someone to pick you up from the pub 😁 tuff love well-done Johnny she will be better for it. Maybe even learn that she can do anything when she really puts her mind too it

    1. LOL you guys are coming to my house this Sunday roast, som is going to put her order in with gift tomorrow 4 prawns & squid 🦑. See you Sunday buddy for Ian’s roast 😃👍

  10. So many people are such idiots.
Of course Johnny is not getting rid of Som. How stupid for people to think such a thing.
Does anyone think that people embellish things on YouTube to make it more entertaining or funny?
you do realize that’s what comedy is 💯% about ! right?
I can get why Johnny wanted Some to learn:
    > Independence for som ✅🛵
    > Saving $,000’s of 💵🤑
and apparently this makes Johnny a bad bloke?
Fuck the idiots & the morons.

  11. Pushing someone towards independence is good but threatening to split up after 4 years just over transportation problems is churlish and just plain nasty to poor som.
Overall your attitude shows that you are not committed to the relationship and a lack of respect for your “ Thai “ girlfriend. Would you have dared to treat an Aussie gf the same way?

    1. DreamHomesParkCity How so? Unless he knows Jonny in person he can’t possible know how serious Jonny take this relationship or not just by judging from some videos uploaded to YouTube.

  12. Geez Johnny a few dudes taking this a bit too serious. If you follow Jonny you would know hes a good guy and treats Som well. Keep up the good work mate.

  13. Enjoyed the video but it’s a tough call to make a novice drive a motorbike in Thailand. My ex thai girlfriend never wanted me to drive one even I ride in the states. I have one now but it’s not my driving, it’s the nuts on the road that don’t how to drive. I swear I get a pickup truck that pulls out in front of me everyday. I was told once that you need 20 eyes to drive anything in Thailand , so true. Not to mention the bad roads. Hope it all works out and stay safe

    1. Cheers Kent the roads in Hua hin are very good there is really only 3 main roads, but I agree the roads in Thailand can be sketchy as, I drive the car with 360 vision expect the unexpected lol. Hope all is well & stay safe 😷👍

    1. @Jonny There Is Something Happening all is well so far jonny, been to hua hin twice and hoping to go next winter been following you and jim Andrews for a while , maybe we could meet up for a beer sometime , and bring ian he looks like a right laugh , from wales uk here lol, loving the car by the way, my mate had a nice mk 1 escort in the 80`s I had a bright yellow mk 2 with a vinyl sunroof and a starstky and hutch black stripe through it , great days lol

  14. As a person who lived in SEA for many years, I understand a large portion of what Jonny experiences. Living in SEA teaches you to not take life too seriously. That said, this does not mean you are ignorant of others not does it mean you are careless. Rather, I read and view Jonnys videos is with a light heart, humour and the Asian twist to not taking life too seriously. Living in SEA, one speaks freely, light hearted and enjoys the moment. One must live there to understand. Be well Jonny.

    1. Thanks for watching , 100% agree some people just take life to bloody seriously 😂 man there is some freaks out there lol. Hope all is well & stay safe 😊👍

  15. WOW…. And I thought I had the only Thai woman that could not ride a scooter… In fact her story is very much like your ladys.. No conference and family to run her everywhere… So any way I told her you get a licence and I will get you a scooter for your 40th birthday.. She spent a few weeks practising on the family’s scooters… Done a 3 day licence course and came out the other end with a licence.. I was so happy for her.. getting it first time was a big kick in the pants for her conference and is the only one in her family with a licence … Unfortunately I was unable to be there for her birthday and buy the scooter “dam virus”… So I sent her the money and she bought a Yamaha freego 125… she has only put 130km on it in the month she has had it… just let her learn at her own pace.. she is riding that’s the main thing…

    1. Thanks peter that’s a great story, nice to know I’m not the only one in the sane situation lol. I hope your gf had a brilliant 40th, don’t worry you will be able to get over here soon. Thanks for watching & stay safe 😊👍

    1. No she’s not really keen on the camera, it depends really some days she’s really happy to be on camera other times not so much 😂 just shy I think

  16. Hang in there Jonny, this lockdown is making everyone a little crazy. On the bright side, by the time the bars open back up all the girls will be virgins again. LOL

    1. Lol ohh to be a Virgin again would be amazing 😂 apparently the bars are opening again on the 1st may so fingers crossed it doesn’t change. Thanks for watching & stay safe 😊👍😷

    1. Jonny There Is Something Happening , it was a MK1 too but I had it modified. I converted the back drum brim brakes to disc brakes, upgraded the front ones. Changed my suspension. Dropped in a Toyota 4AGE 20valve black top engine with ITBs. Wide fender arches just like those from the rally models in the 70’s and added 2 fog lamps in front. 😊 I really missed her. I’m even planning to get a tattoo of the car on my arm soon. 😃🙏🏻

    1. @Jonny There Is Something Happening After going in and out of Thailand for over 30 years, I have heard so many sad stories about naive men thinking they found love and ending up broken, broke and sad!! And after been reading about these stories everywhere, I wonder why so many still go to Asia to find girlfriends!! Seems like they are mostly blind, deaf and dumb!! LOL!

  17. I don’t mean to sound negative mate but motorbikes are dangerous. I can certainly understand her point of view but also understand your time and money issue. I personnelly would buy her a car and teach her how to drive it safely! It’s your call mate

    1. John Roberts Aussies have a fear of bikes because most Aussies who ride scooters in south east Asia are not following the local traffic guidelines.

    2. She will get a next year until then I think it’s best to learn the toad rules on a bike. Bikes aren’t that dangerous if you ride sensible. Most 90% bike accident are caused but drinking & speeding Som doesn’t speed nor does she drink😊👍

  19. Completely understandable that she is from Bangkok and doesn’t know how to drive a car or a motorbike..A lot of poor girls who live in bangers are like that..But once she gets confidence riding that motorbike, look out..Will only take her 6 months to get confidence…Then Jonny will be saying, where the F is Som?..She’s been gone for hours..She was shopping for shoes at the hua hin mall..

  20. Hey, independent women don’t go out with you. I live in Thailand as expat. Expats women always wonder why European male expats in Thailand are unattractive. They are rejects in their own countries. Done Thai women are learning, slowly.

  21. My wife of 15 years hasn’t even got a licence and she’s Australian – I blame her ex husband lol. Well done Som – you will enjoy the freedom it brings you.
I’ll just go back to driving my wife around town now.

  22. What a great story. It definitely needed to be done and this is why a woman needs a strong man to lead her in the right direction. Great job, Jonny!

  23. Nice little bike, not much storage under-seat , but that can’t be helped.
When Som gets more proficient , you could maybe upgrade her bike to a PCX,or give her your Vespa and you get yourself/treat yourself to a new bike of your choice!

  24. Dear Johnny, love your show, your remind me of a young Tom Jones, you should do films. How do you stay long term in Thailand I would like to move there

  25. Like your proposition to Som, riding 2 wheels always has it’s risks, I believe she will enjoy the challenge and succed safely. You have a treasure of a partner J, good luck with all your life pursuits (incl your adopted family) inspiring vlogging at a fragile time in history. Be safe and keep well all.

  26. Where’s the bungee cords to hold the case of beer? Can you attach a cart? Also would of been a different video if she told you to piss off 🤣. Bangkok here we come. Now where’s my straw 🤣🤣. Anyone seen Jonny latley? It’s been a week 🤣.

  27. Johnny, good deed. What happens in 10 years time when u start to be a grumpy old man? Som was lucky to have a relative to teach her how to ride. Next skill to have is defensive riding and situation awareness. Great drone photography in ur video. 🛵🛵🛵👍😁🇦🇺

  28. waking kids up in the morning is great, if you can’t do that then you are missing out on something very special, soon the kid will be independent, and you’ll realise it too late , shame on you, get out of bed for the kid.

  29. Wow, haven’t seen you in several months since I moved back to the states…. you’re looking damn good mister and so is Som…. life seems to be smiling on you. Be bad, have fun at it and stay safe Jonny!! Very good!!!!!

    1. thanks dave how is it being back in the states, we going though some crazy times at the moment. Hope all is well & stay safe👍😀

  30. I think her little guy was just excited as her big guy seeing her come home on her new bike ?.
You are only improving their lives , good work .

  31. when you say 28 days to learn to ride a motorbike , does that include passing her test as well ? because letting some1 ride without a license is crazy … just saying mate ..

    1. Unfortunately with the corona virus the land & transport office where you go get the license doesn’t reopen until the 1st of may. She will be going there to get her license straight away 😊👍

  32. 4 years huh? So, you’re just stringing her along. It’s like this, If you’re not going to put a ring on it after all this time, then it’s not going to happen. Being in a relationship for companionship or because it’s easy, isn’t fair to either of you. you’ll just end up resenting each other. Been there, done that. I wasted 4 years of my life I’ll never get back, 4 years I could have been happy with someone else. Let that soak in your head for a while… Don’t make the same mistake that I did.

  33. Excellent mate, good ultimatum, 28 days, been waiting 31 years for Bee to get one haha. Bike looks good Jonny, don’t know about that seat, looked a bit dodgy.
