  1. Yah, I did the article on that at the main site. I was fortunate. Even at the end the police inspector was expecting a bribe for doing what he’s hired for in the first place. Got all my money back, which i didn’t expect would happen. But only after having to make it clear I was not going to just roll over and take the loss. She at first told me she wasn’t afraid of the police but, being as she was on parole, I knew better. 🙂

  2. can you talk a little about medical care.Do you have friend from the states come an visit? I enjoyrd my time in the PI {usn]Are you going to stay for a long time, or return to the USA? How do you know you are not getting ripped off on housing, food ect…

  3. I plan to do a more in-depth video/article on health insurance here. PhilHealth is the big provider here. The bigger cities, such as Cebu, Mindanao, Manila and others have some nice hospitals. The smaller islands have decent Coop Hospitals. I am staying in the PH permanently as my new home. I only plan to return for a visit to see family.

  4. As for expenses and getting ripped off. Utilities are done by meter. Food, you pay what everyone else does at the supermarket. Merkados is where it’s cheaper but you haggle since prices aren’t posted. (See Tagbilaran Fish Market Video) Renting a home or condo you get great deals, just shop around. Depending on the area you can get an entire home rented for less than $275/month. My first studio, which I really enjoyed, was only $110/month on Mactan.
