LOOK OUT – GET OUT OF THE WAY – MY FIRST TIME DRIVING A TRIKE IN THE PHILIPPINES

Today is the first time I have ever driven a Philippines Trike. I have driven many motorcycles in my life time but never driven a trike. Hold on to your seats and get out of the way. Let the fun begin.

  1. You should have your front tire balanced, listen for bearing squeal also, that is way too much shaking and vibration,be safe, wear uour mask big fines in Pampanga now!!

  2. Have someone check the headstock bearings. There definitely not made for anyone over 5,5 I always struggle getting in and out of trikes when I’m there. But it’s an adventure every time. Have fun kidz πŸ€ͺ

  3. Philly, I have to Pay YOU a huge compliment. I’ve watch your videos for A LONG TIME from the U.S… and I think you have done a GREAT job of keeping you channel and videos POLITICS FREE!
I don’t know if you see things politically like I do.. and that you should be commended for!
Look forward to seeing you in AC after the lock-down.. for pizza and a few laughs.
    Curt in Vegas

  4. Be careful as I know one of our staffs brothers was a tricycle driver and was killed by a bus a few years ago. He or the bus or both of them failed could judge the width of the trike and they made contact. probably especially difficult to judge if you have been a motorbike rider

  5. Hi Brian I have a trike here in the UK had same problem very wobbly at front changed the steering bearings and it was much better but the old trike do tend to still wobble a little bit hope this was of help to you ride safe πŸ‘

  6. I don’t know why some provinces have trikes with small cabs and other provinces have trikes with bigger cabs. The people are basically the same size.

  7. Love you videos stay up a trike ride the single bike Fort Myers Florida I couldn’t even read one of them and I’ve been riding motorcycles my whole life

  8. Travelled in many trikes in various parts of the Philippines. Always an adventure! Some places have large trikes suitable for foreigners and some don’t. Some of the negative comments may have come from people who have not experienced some of the transportation issues in the Philippines. Keep up the good work.

  9. not bad m8, got a bit of a shiver to it. i bet the other trikers got a surprise. don’t give up ya day job though i think. you an yours stay safe an well eh!

  10. Same I’m 6-2 I couldn’t get in that tuna can no disrespect what are you driving a bike just don’t forget you get a sidecar so you can wipe out a garbage can

  11. Brian, check bushings, bearings n front axle including axle nut. Shouldn’t shimmy that bad at low speeds; y’all be careful out there πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ™πŸ» πŸ‡΅πŸ‡/πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  12. Brian, also you need to putcha a set of β€œApe Hangers” for Kano large frame; LoL πŸ˜‚ stretch out there, start a new trend😎

  13. Gotta fix that front wobble. That could cause an accident or be an costly repair in the future if ignored. There are many expats who seem to prefer owning trikes as their personal transportation. Bud Brown drives a modern style trike, and he’s shown other expats who also own trikes on his channel. I’ve also seen videos of expats who own the more traditional style trike of a motorcycle with a cab attached on the side. Next time Brian can have a race with TokTok Cali and Lucas Musser.

  14. I’ve owned several “hacks” (sidecars) the stock motorcycle geometry is not set up for a sidecar. Alignment is very important. The “wobble” you are experiencing is normal for “just” attaching a sidecar. It’s very complicated and technical installing a sidecar. Even changing the weight in the sidecar, changes everything. Installing a steering dampener might reduce the “wobble” a bit. The wobble is and can be very dangerous at higher speeds. The very warn foot pegs are a sign of high use. Like the peddles in a car. Never trust the odometer.
Google motorcycle sidecar alignment and installation. The fun is just beginning. πŸ™‚

  15. Hey Brian, you really look so tall on that trike. It’s really a nice trike, I like it a lot. Just please be careful my friend. 😊

  16. You can swap your sidecar at the side car maker at garcia st in mt view what i can see is your side car is still at 8k price you can just add a bit more for your own design at height of the trike
Its just an oppinion now a days the side cars i full stainless is about 18 to 20k

  17. Nice Trike, but I would get that front end wobble fixed before letting someone take Lot to the market in it. I think it would be dangerous in traffic. And the wobble might even be worse with a passenger. I’ve been riding motorcycles for about 45 years and have no idea what it would be like with a side car. Especially with the shifting pattern of all down. Don’t think I could ever get used to that. Does the side car change the handling much. It seems like the cornering would be very different. I hope it all works out for you and Lot. Good luck.

  18. The thing that saved me in AC was when Grab became available – Trikes on PI roads are the best destroyer of western spinal columns there is bar none. One laid me out for 2 weeks after hitting a pothole in Hensonville. Will never ride in one again especially when an air con car with Grab is the same price to SM.

  19. Wow I have packed myself in there with my wife few times, and it was not comfortable and I am somewhat little shorter than you Brian, Great tool though for LL to get her business done every day.. I bet that wobble is a challenge.. check the rim, bearings and shocks.. This video got me a good laugh though .. bet people looked funny at you ..

  20. THAT wobbling is not normal, and you shift first is all the way down, The rest are all up πŸ‘ good luck y’all βœŒπŸ‘ŠπŸ’¨

  21. You handled the trike very well for the first time in your life. I was impressed on how well in the first part of the video you handled the corner, you judged turning ratio very well, adjusting for the side car to avoid the corner. But I would get that front end bearings checked right away, that shake looks scary, especially if you take it to a higher speed. I am glade you and Lot Lot are doing a little bit better in life and branching out into new territory to be better entrepreneurs in your every day lives.

  22. NICE TRIKE BRIAN A GREAT IDEA WOULD BE TAKE IT TO A METAL SHOP AND HAVE AN EXPANDABLE ROOF PUT ON SO FOREIGNERS CAN GET IN AND OUT EASY TAKE CARE

  23. I only rode one once, I don’t remember as severe a wobble as you appear to have, but applying brakes was an eye opener! The side car didn’t have any brakes and it really pushed it to the left when braking. Your in the right place to get it fixed, there’s one or two trikes running around the Philippines! Good luck brother!

  24. For the front end wobble, like with any side car on a motorcycle, the toe may need to be adjusted. I believe it it should be toed in towards the bike about 2 to 3 degrees. If still a bit of a wobble, tightening the steering damper might help.

  25. Ya that wobble has got to go. That would drive me crazy 😜 but other than that, what a cool little trike! That was a fun ride πŸ‘πŸ»

  26. Ralph Nader said it best, “Unsafe at any speed” I would make the next trip with that shaky thing straight to the bike shop. It is in desperate need of bearings or something. I would not even ride in it let alone try to drive it all day, day after day. It looks good but needs a few more pesos put into it before it is road worthy.

  27. I am not into bykes, but when such a shaking is normal, then I eat a broomstick. Brian, spend some dollars to repair that, it’s a safety thing.

  28. Good buy!! Doesn’t smoke! Means valves are in good shape, exhaust system still doing it’s job….change the oil i. It, when you get a chance try to find some STP Oil Treatment … check the front wheel balancing & suspension front strut might be bad…. good luck

  29. Love it, trust me you done much better than I ever did my first time driving a trike. I think maybe it needs attention to the brakes, really squeaking, Oh American driver higher rates, ha ha ha

  30. Great to see you back on a motorcycle again. Sure it was fun and brought back memories. Anxious to see a lut vlog in it on a market run and how much food can fit in it and Lut to return to Siri Siri store in the mornings. But you 1000 % correct.. Great investment for the business and also give your friend a steady job. But other than Siri Siri store he be completing with many others for business. Will also be great to take Hannah Grace to school in and pick up. Save gas in the car

  31. I drove a new Honda with the same kind of side car. The front end was doing the exact same thing. I drove it about 1 mile and took it back. I was told it didn’t do that before the d=side can was added. It is not balanced in some way. I didn’t think it was safe at all.
