Koreans React To Radical Feminist Hand Sign | Street Interview

  1. Symbols like these will always harm the feminist cause. These radical feminists are making the same mistakes that led to patriarchal society like today.

  2. To me, it seems this radical feminism has come about as a reaction to the repressive patriarchy. When I lived in Korea, I felt it was like living in the fifties: the gender roles I saw displayed in the media, my friends talking about how it seems the majority of men had affairs, the condemnation of single mothers and older unmarried women, et al. Maybe frustrations are bubbling to the surface?

  3. Korea indeed remains deeply patriarchal and women there don’t enjoy the same degree of equality as say, their counterparts in Western Europe. But a hand gesture that mocks something a person can’t control detracts from the overall message and paints supporters of the -ism as immature and spiteful.

It’s like, there’s a million reasons to criticize Jeff Bezos and Amazon’s exploitation of its workers, yet some reformers go after him by making fun of his lazy eye. It detracts from the message.

  4. Feminists in Korea do not endorse lesbians and gays. They protested the attendance of a lesbian to an all-woman university called Sookmyung Women’s University. This is a stark difference from the LGBT community in the US that shows how closed feminism in Korea is.

  5. Como dirían en mi rancho: “la tienen chiquita”. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist it🙈 Maybe they’re just stating the facts🤣 Some say that truth hurts. It’s healthy to know that none us are perfect. Anyway, hugs to everyone!

  6. Not that the size matters when it comes to the meaning of a man because it is something private that can’t be controlled, but this gesture is pushing a narrative demanding the nation’s masculinity to the world. Very inappropriate

  7. Asking for equality is a womens right.Feminism means equality and sometimes some measure has to be taken so that people see how much a women is not given in this world.

  8. Make a video about how safe is S.korea for women or how many hours does a person work. Include part time too! Since the students work part time!

  9. I don’t know what it is but it is not feminism. To ANY movement that fights for equal rights, the premise is the same, you can’t have respect when you disrespect the other.

  10. As a Korean male feminist myself, this is just too hilarious. It’s not about how “radical and violent” feminist is in Korea, it’s more about Korean incels reflecting their anger and victimized self portrait.
Like shouting “ARE YOU MOCKING ME? ARe YoU TAKIN tO Me BiACHE?!” in the middle of nowhere.
    You are shaming yourself, dude.
    You are 🤏

  11. That hand gesture is being used a lot. Does that mean everyone who uses that hand shape degrades the genitalia of Korean men? That the shape of his who is using all radical feminist? Wow, then you’re welcome! That finger-shaped controversy just seems like a comedy.
In Korea, where the gender equality index is almost last in all fields and everyday life, those men speak of ‘male discrimination’ and ‘male disgust’?! That’s absurd. Masculine discrimination… does that even exist? What’s the difference between white discrimination and heterosexual discrimination? So you think these things are real? How can minorities, the weak ‘hate’ the majority and vested interests?
Is this really the 21st century? Nothing has changed from the late 19th century.
It is funny and sad for Korean women that the fact that only that finger shape is controversial and men’s reverse discrimination is accepted.

  12. So the conversation has successfully been moved to the needs of the men and not the women. Sounds typical in the struggle for equality. Hopefully the conversation can get back on track soon. They have much work to do yet.

  13. This is not often mentioned in history books but Adolph Hitler’s, and the Nazi’s ideal, of the perfect Aryan man was one who had a small sausage, along with blue eyes, blond hair, properly shaped skull, etc, etc.

  14. Korean men truly believe that all feminism is inherently radical because, according to them, men are more discriminated in the modern society. There’s no way the gender conflicts are going to be resolved in a few years.

  15. What radical activists need to get in their thick skull is that you don’t empower anyone by making others smaller. That’s just replacing one evil with another. Absolutely stupid.

  16. Men are completely irrelevant to feminism. They are beside the point. Feminism is for WOMEN — for our liberation from the male scourge of patriarchy.

But if feminism offends men, that’s a side bonus, lol.

  17. I’ve seen so many koreaboos in comment sections either completely oblivious to this topic or pretend it’s just lies. I’m amazed to see someone actually do anything on it, it’s always been this weird illusive thing.

  18. These women’s are not qualified to be acknowledged as feminist .
To me they seem more like some nasty idiots who are just working to make the world a poor place to live . At this point I think these women don’t even know what feminism is actually about , also they can’t go around dissing anyone in the name of feminism and if they wish to do so they need to separate themselves from feminism and feminist movement

  19. 7:52 japan never went through this. Rather japanese women are quite and dont issue or report harassments or gender inaquality, to avoid shaming and not to disturb the social harmony

  20. even the ads got pulled down, it got what they want. Controversial means people remembered those ads and that company who made that ad. No matter bad or good intentions, it doesn’t matter to the company who made it.

  21. Please don’t even call them radical ‘feminists’. They are just online trolls who’s promoting hatred. Such a shame! I’d rather want to learn about people who’s actually doing something for equality in general in Korea.

  22. There are and were women who fought for worthy causes like a right to vote but then Korean feminists are just causing controversies. Shame on them.

  23. It’s ironic that Japan and the US went through the feminism movement already yet South Korea is the country that elected a women president so far.

I am from the US and was stationed in Japan and Korea. Knowing what I know about the Japanese people, it will be a long time before Japan elects a women prime minister. Depending on how Biden administration does , Kamala Harris may have a chance of becoming the first US women president.

  24. It would be lovely if Asian Boss could interview korean feminists to ask them where they stand on LGBT issue. Because I have seen so many of them ridiculing Gs and Ts and calling them names on the internet.

  25. There’s nothing about this issue makes you a feminist.. this group are just plain bullies, or probably not happy about their sex lives. Being a feminist means you’re fighting for gender equality be it economic or political equality, in other words important social issues.

  26. It took me forever to get how men took offense but LOL I get it hahaa! The only men offended have peanuts in their pants 🙈😂

  27. Not surprised. What was feminism initially has turned into radical feminism and it has become the norm in the west and now it’s invading the east. Make fun of men, people laugh. Make fun of women, you’re sexist. Feminists have become sexists themselves by such hypocritical behaviour.

  28. In my country that means, bit, short, 1/2 inch, little…. It depends on the occasion…If it is to refer to something that has to do with a man, in Latin Americans we have many words that can be offensive, without using gestures….also sign language changes according to the countries…Spanish is spoken in 20 countries in the world 19 of them are in the new world and we all speak differently, which for some is a bad word or gesture, for others it has a different meaning …

  29. Men on a huff about a finger gesture, yet there’s virtually NO women’s rights in Korea, and women are treated like trash for simply being a woman. Even in abuse cases, the justice courts of Korea blame the women as if they “asked for it” but say anything about a man and NO! That’s where they wanna draw the line.. such a shame.

  30. They get offended at a nonviolent hand sign, but the women get offended when men put hidden cameras in public bathrooms and secretly record women in various states of undress and sell content to porn websites, then escape legal consequences.

  31. it’s clear that this man doesn’t know what feminism is, and as a matter of fact, most korean men don’t. it’s sad to see how progressive they claim to be, but in reality, they’re as conservative as their parents and grandparents.

  32. Interesting topic, but it seems as if some of the Korean men in this video are extremely sensitive. In the U.S. the ad would be considered a joke lol. I would be interested to see how Korean men would’ve reacted to the song by ‘Gillette – Short, Short Man’, haha.

  33. (I’m a guy) (also great video Asian Boss)
If men are getting offended by that simple hand vector art then maybe they’re trying to hide something. I’m just saying what needs to be heard. Who cares about these ads “offending men.” It doesn’t offend me. Women have been oppressed and offended in so many different for as long as people were around. So are these little (pun fully intended) “offensive” ads so controversial. Ppl are getting way to offended these days to the smallest things out there. If it was a racial thing then yeah, id understand, that’s another story.

  34. Of course. Of course it would be Korean feminists who use the same racist tropes that racists use to taunt all Asian men. Of course it would be Korean women who put a smile on all Asian hating racists’ faces with this denigration of their men. Of course it is the nationality of women who most display their contempt for their own race by leading the world in race canceling cosmetic eyelid surgery and nose jobs. Of course it is the race of women who most marry outside their race because they buy into the racist denigration of Asian men. Is anyone really surprised that this level of treachery is done by Korean feminists?

  35. An anonymous source should start putting up flyers with the image of two hands forming an O (like the heart symbol but rounder) to imply women feminists have huge Vs)

  36. I’m so interested in Koreans because the way that they talk and stuff just shows you how there can be so many little subtle tiny differences in the way different cultures think and speak. I notice that Koreans 99% of the time formulate their thoughts in a very deep way, even if it isn’t that deep of a thought.

I don’t know how to describe it.

It’s like they are responding to questions formally as if they are answering a question on a test.

  37. just as men tend to resort to the “not all men” phrase, why not apply the same mentality to the feminist movement taking place? why so adamant on labeling feminism as “radical” when extremists are the minority?

  38. People don’t consider WHY these people decided to stake an extreme stance. I’d be interested in knowing why and how this fanatical group came to be. Also funny how most people don’t think of demeaning behaviour until they are affected by it. I’ve met many men and women who engage in demeaning sexist behaviours, perspectives and jokes and don’t even think they are being sexist.

  39. Feminism used to really mean “humanism,” as in all genders should be treated and afforded the same opportunities, enfranchisement and access in a meritocracy.

Funny how “radical” and “feminist” are practically synonymous in most people’s minds. Radical can be applied to any extremism, including masculinity (in Canada we use “toxic” instead of “radical” but toxic masculinity is literally “radical masculinity”.) Feminism, specifically and traditionally is about equality, but 3rd wave feminism has definitely had a hand in creating a culture war… whether it just be allies taking the position of “anti-masculine,” misogynists using “femionism” as a slur and dog whistle, or feminist extremists trying to gatekeep what it means to be a female.

I think most people are smart enough to know that both extremes are bad.

  40. From the thumbnail, I already knew what that hand sign means. And have never heard of this group of people. In certain parts of the world at least, it’s used as a insult. And means the same thing as this group is implying.

  41. The best and most ridiculous feminists are those, who don’t want men to see them as sex objects but then, at the same time, are selling their body to men on OnlyFans. Talk about contradictions. The feminists are trying to oppress men. That’s all.

  42. I’m not surprised there are alot of closet radical feminists watching this video. 🥴

I’m willing to bet none of the women in the comment section are actually oppressed (except in their dream), but they want to hang on to that victim mentality so they can torture and hurt men they don’t even know as justice from oppression that never happened.🙄

  43. it is so refreshing and calming to see that almost everyone in this interview, especially the women, were wise enough to understand that this kind of radicalism is NOT feminism, is NOT helping any woman, it is just mean and contraproductive.. Here in Western Europe we have the opposite, men can’t even breathe the wrong way and are attacked for everything and instead of seeing such matters from a logical point of view, men always have to apologize, even in public, in the press, or they lose their jobs in TV because one radical feminist claimed they said something possibly non-feminist. (which meanwhile can just be a compliment to a woman, that is enough for men to actually lose their jobs from one day to another) And many women, at least in my country sadly, support this dividing nonsense and push it on in the completely wrong direction.

This autumn we have general elections here and one of the main parties has open dispute because in their party they meanwhile claim that only women should get to be elected because they are women, NOT because they are the right person for the job, or have fitting qualifications, ( or ANY qualification for that matter) no, just because they are female and every high position is supposed to be taken by women, no matter what, logic and common sense out of the window.

And in this party they even ask the male candidates to step back and leave the election only to the female candidates. This is what happens when these small radical (and I say this as modern, moderately young woman) aggressive ‘feminism’ groups get too much audience and spotlight and then go further and further, just dividing men and women and feeding their self righteousness that roots in lack of self confidence and surpressed aggression from who and when knows.
It was great to see that at least in South Korea most people are able to use their common sense and brains to judge this topic.

  44. Korea is ridiculously behind in their equality development with their conservatism being behind it. It’s still an extremely patriarchal society. Men who are offended by this are the same men that internationally would go “NOT ALL MEN” when women talk about sexual abuse etc. That is likely where the hand sign comes into play; it is a play on power because they know men are sensitive enough to get angry at that sign. Yes, it is indeed created to cause a stir.

  45. If Korean men get offended means it’s true then ? When technically only perception . Radical means change dramatically.. this episode is more like strong feminisms.. equality.. merits than gender

  46. I was a bit amused because I did not expect them to try to do stuff like this… I guess I would never think of making it seem like they are referring to the size of the reproductive organ.
At first, I was thinking of symbolic meanings, such as small mind and narrow thinking (since there is patriarchy in Korea and men have this perspective that they are not equal with women), they have a lot of gender roles and a more “traditional/ rigid thinking”, so that is why I thought “limited view/small brain” message… but then they went with the most unimportant aspect – the size of the genitalia…

  47. Men degrade women all the time but when its women’s turn men already have the power to make a big deal out of it and react. Degrading people on both sides is not good, but women’s bodies are discussed so often that we feel no bodily autonomy. Now it becomes an issue when women do it to men because men are not used to having their bodies degraded like this.

  48. Ladies & Gentlemen, can you PLEASE stop arguing with each other. Otherwise, one day an earthquake will occur, and then you will no longer have a reason to do so, except then, to aid oneanother.

So, whilst you have stability in your lives, be loving, good and generous, and do not create enmity against or between yourselves.

Both of you (males and females), you are better than that, so STOP IT, now.🛑

I have a deeply rooted LOVE for my fellow Koreans, but to see them hating on each other hurts deeply.

Life is short, we are here only temporarily. Do not allow yourselves to be consumed by animosity and hate. Remove your selfishness, arrogance and superiority complex over oneanother, otherwise it will snatch away one’s inner peace. Do not create friction and division.

I hope one day to visit South Korea, and to meet its beautiful souls. 👍🇰🇷

    Peace ✌️ & (lots of) Love 💐

  49. Prosecutor Seo Ji-hyun, who first started the Me Too movement in Korea, says she is concerned about the current situation in Korea and needs to stop the hatred.

  50. oh hell no. Radical feminism is not a bad thing. MISANDRY is what is wrong. Y’all should stop tying feminsm to it. IT AIN’T FEMINISM IF IT DOESN’T WANT EQUALITY.

  51. Sooooo is the gender wage disparity no longer a whopping 30% in Korea? Did they finally lower it to pay women the same as they pay men?

  52. sexism is sexism no matter the hander its targeted at and sexism is wrong, you’re not gonna solve misoginy by spreading misandry, why not try to empower women instead of putting down men?

  54. And of course men are anti-feminism. Especially if they are 20’s. Misoginy is everywhere, so the women want equal rights ? That will never happen. If they are offended by a simple hand gesture, how about women rights to dress, act and do what they want ? Society doesn’t accept that. For the society, women should be in the kitchen, take care of kids and husband like 100 years ago. I also live in a country where women are mostly seen as objects. But I don’t degrade men for that. I simply do what I want and don’t care about society rules. Not gonna marry because I chose not to. I believe my rights are equals even though it seems that society doesn’t think that. For me it matters how I see and feel things. But I will never degrade men just because I can.

  55. Actually in Korea lots of radical feminists are in political circles through a 80’s student movements against dictatorship but they couldn’t help poor female victims. They also acknowledged it themselves.

  56. Now that is stupid. To say that for sure it was a woman the person who made the design for marketing and the boss could be a man who didn’t know what that gesture means.
What are you talking about ? It is a hand with a sawsage. I don’t think you can interpret it as mens genitals.
And I am sorry if I will make someone mad, but why does the men feel offended ? Like: it’s not true. So why do you care so much and point it out ?
They are making the issue bigger than it’;s supposed to be. And now the whole world is watching this. Ahhh!
P.S. I know that stupid thing about size of asian genitalia it’s just a lie. It is not real and asians should not feel offended by stupid rumors.

  57. I remember red velvet’s irene getting sooo much hate for reading a feminist book (not a radical feminist one, just feminist). That’s why i believe korean men are just way too sensetive.

  58. Yes, for centuries men exploited women, that doesn’t mean now women will take revenge on men. Both are considered as toxic patriarchal behavior.
There’s a difference in being a feminist and gender bashing. .
Feminism is not just for women, men can also be feminists who believes in equal cerebral opportunities. These radical feminist needs to educate themselves.
Because of such radicalism we are going back to square one, what’s the point in coming so far in civilization if we are going to keep taking revenge on one another🤦🏻‍♀️

  59. I don’t understand the last man : “government and big companies only benefit women”?
Is that why South Korea is the last OCDE country for gender wage gap? because women are paid too much? lol
if men feel threatened by this hand sign, their virility does not hold much…

  60. Honestly what’s “radical feminism” in a conservative society like South Korea?? It’s probably just straight feminism.

  61. Lol I thought feminism was about equality but modern feminist is more about taking advantage as a female and mocking men
This doesn’t help anybody just because some of this girls experienced bad male behavior doesn’t mean all men are garbage
So much hate between two genders

  62. I don’t agree with Korean radical feminists and their ways, however, I understand why SK feminism became very radical. Molka, ‘boys only lockerroom talk’ kakao chats where men film women while having sex without consent, then share them for everyone to see etc are very big REAL current problems, and even when perpetrators are caught they get slap on the wrist, well, might get a small prison sentence (in some cases smoking weed is punished WAY seriously than sexual assault). Guess what, the actual victims have to suffer for life, because, as a bonus, society really endulges in victim blaming (common belief that victim wasn’t careful enough thus the outcome is deserved). I’m not even mentioning pedophiles who pray on young girls, remember that pedophile rapist who got released several months ago after doing just a 12-year sentence into an original neighborhood where his victim currently lives?… Did you know that abortion was illegal up until last year in SK? And if caught doctors were also punished? Korean men, on contrary, also commonly (understandingly) complain about mandatory military service, but the thing is the mandate WAS CREATED BY MEN in power, so I don’t think hating on feminists will help the cause.
I’m writing all of this things because the CURRENT REAL PROBLEM in SK is that women also deal with bull men usually deal within society ON TOP OF NOT BEING PROTECTED ENOUGH by country judical system, BUT the latter is SO NORMALIZED and any risen voice gets tuned down EASILY that most of people just give up and prefer to deal with it silently. Also, you’d have to be VERY NAIVE to believe that casual sexism and expectations of women as free family caretakers and servers are totally eradicated in SK. Practically, women (radfeminists in this case) are an easy target to hate and bash on, because ACTUALLY standing up against corporations, chaebols and men in power require quite a time, some serious actions and, in case of failure, consequences are severe for one’s lifehood. And that’s the point one is missing when talking about how women are so privileged in SK society and how it’s become more and more misandric.

  63. Maybe the guy with the black slingbag is on to something. It’s almost as if they just want to say “hehe ur pp smol” just to say it.

  64. The Radical “Feminist” Hand Sign is misandrist. It’s a common theme with these political movements—vilifying the “enemy”, which does not help their cause at all.

  65. You guys have to search about “n’s room” and “hidden camera” issues. And if you still think 🤏🏻 this is radical femnism, I mean come on.

  66. 90% of Korean men are forced to provide military service for 1 year and 6 months. And they earn only about $500 a month.
And most Korean feminists humiliate them.
This is probably one of the reasons young Korean men hate them.

  67. As a Korean, I’m not very interested in feminism unlike reality. There are women who are feminist, but they are a really small percentage of the total population, and nobody cares about them.

  68. Did “radical feminist” actually killed Korean men? I mean Korean women get raped, recorded, or get killed by anti-feminist. Which is men for 98%. And they cry about 🤏🏻?

So which one is more radical now?

  69. “While you wouldn’t necessarily think of feminism as a bad thing…” Well yes, yes I would actually. Everywhere it takes root, men and women begin to resent each other. Feminism completely ignores human nature.

  70. Picking up some coins = radical feminist
Picking up some small chocolates = radical feminist

How rediculous is it, women get actually killed by men in Korea. Also have to worry about hidden cameras when we go for a shoping, when we ride on the bus or subway, when we go up the stairs. And Korean men get crazy about “stupid signl which actual radical feminist groups didn’t even know about. How funny and sad is that.

  71. ALL feminism is radical. ALL feminism is marxist. ALL feminism is unnatural.

And what has it gotten women? More misery? Theyre less happy then they have ever been and it has nothing to do with men, who no longer want these masculine women.

Korea needs patriarchy or they will never restore their birth rate. Thats the fact.

  72. Yes, equality. I support this. Woman should confess first too. Research where to meet. Paid the bill when going out together. Fight those drunk bastards who make a mess with us. And when things got dangerous, she’d make a distraction, so the man can have a time to flee and call the cops.

  73. I think feminism has become a serious problem in the society we live in and especially in current relationships. It is very common this hate speech against men as if they were monsters of society, these banners that the reporter showed to the people in this video, end up reinforcing this even more. Who will support a misogynist movement like theirs? Feminists don’t want equal rights, they want revenge and to be superior to men by earning all their male privileges in world law. Here in Brazil, a law was passed whereby if you commit psychological violence against women, you will be arrested. It seems nothing, but here in the country, the laws are a mess and justice is extremely partial, rolling out various injustices against the population. What exactly is classified as psychological violence against women? Here and in other countries they are very poorly explained about all these points. What’s going on are several false accusations by feminists or even modern women against men and this law is another loophole for women of that suit, to invent that they suffered psychological violence against some man who did not serve or did not feed their fragile ego and does this nonsense in lying to justice. What’s up? I recommend that you be careful with feminists, as it is not worth having a serious relationship with them, as most of them have borderline syndrome and various narcissistic attitudes towards their partner. Don’t go thinking it’s a cute movement that wants the good of women, because that’s just in theory, in practice it’s much worse and they want to cause a huge inequality that can affect the birth rate in the world with the failure of modern relationships…

  74. Feminism is supposed to promote equality amongst gender, but it’s hard to do that by attacking one of the biggest point of insecurity among men.

  75. If think it’s hilarious how many of them get offended to be honest. Like why do they even care? Do they have such a small ding dong so they cry them self into the night or what? They cry about a damn joke and don’t fix issues actually women face in Korea daily like raping or the many scandals from the past (hidden cameras etc.). When they shut down the hidden cameras/revenge site in Korea a lot of men in Korea complained about it, can you imagine that? And now they cry about a joke. Hilarious.

    Please interview a feminist.

  76. As a man, I don’t get offended at all. It’s pretty easy to pull down my pants to prove the feminists wrong. But I will make the case that the size indicated in the gesture is a perfect measure of feminists’ brains. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  77. I feel like any man who isn’t offended realized that ,
that symbol didn’t apply to them because they aren’t small and they aren’t toxic. Those who are triggered are small and feel called out. I kinda feel sorry for them. But men all over have to realize the treatment of women has always been out of hand. Women are getting fed up and instead of men trying to do better they rather bash women for not just accepting toxic behavior and make them feel like they are at fault for men”s toxic behavior. Men need to hold other men accountable for their toxic behavior and stop praising and supporting other men for toxic behavior.

  78. Often these things are born from a feeling of disempowerment & then the sentiment can become tit for tat, meaning, i felt i was treated as insignificant & my good nature was taken advantage of.. Or “I Do Not Hold A Place Of Equality In Your view” so in essence, i am being Dishonored. Yes or No? So if a Woman feels She is made to feel less than & She becomes upset with a Patriarchal Society, what part of Man can She highlight to frame her feelings? Of course She will use the Manhood or a Man’s sense of Pride. Yes there needs to be a meeting of Minds, a polite Conversation, an “Agreement” to Change that outlook. The World is Patriarchal still in this day & age & i am not a Feminist, i am a Realist. The Yin & Yang is out of balance, if one half is greater than the other in Mind & deed, there is Imbalance. Although Femininity stood its ground, belittling the other is a reflection of how one feels, the Men were offended & used their Power to have that offence taken down yes? So where was the dialogue dear Hearts? Where was the meeting of Minds? Disempowerment will only bring about more disempowerment, more angst, so what has been amended? Anything? The King Of Soul – James Brown wrote the song – This Is A Man’s World –

This is a man’s world, this is a man’s world

But it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing without a Woman or a Girl

You see, man made the cars to take us over the road
Man made the train to carry the heavy load
Man made electric light to take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water, like Noah made the ark
    This is a man’s, man’s, man’s world
But it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing without a Woman or a Girl
Man thinks about our little bitty baby girls and our baby boys
Man made them happy, ’cause man made them toys
And after man make everything, everything he can
You know that man makes money, to buy from other man
    This is a man’s world
But it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing, not one little thing, without a Woman or a Girl
    He’s lost in the wilderness
He’s lost in bitterness, he’s lost lost –

( Woman Is Sacred, Treat Her Well & Your Life Will Be Blessed, Treat Her Badly & Your Life Will Become Less. ) 🙏

  79. Youtube community guidelines say no deceptive practices. So women wearing make up, padded bra, padded butt, etc. Got eye, nose, lip, jaw, hair, fat removal, etc., surgery should be banned. These deceptive women, oh my! This the manist movement lol lol lol.

  80. Why did asianboss conduct a survey on this? Is megalian that big of an issue in Korea than discussing true feminism? I think the bigger issue is discussing the fact that feminism does not equate to megalian. Megalian is radical feminism. As far as I can see, Korea equates Megalian to feminism. And it is alarming. Korean women are often ashamed to be called a feminist because in Korea, it equates to man-hating. This is wrong. This is the issue. Not this megalian voodoo.

I’m not saying megalia is correct. But men’s issue is because they are degrading men by pointing out they have small genitals? Based on what? Online posts? A freaking megalian logo? WOMEN SUFFER BECAUSE THERE IS NO EQUALITY, LAWS ARE NOT THE SAME, THERE IS STILL A BIAS TOWARDS ME BEING A WOMAN. A man ceo has a higher salary than a woman ceo. And the big issue in Korea is megalia??????? Based on them saying men have small genitals??? IS IT THAT ALARMING? MEN ARE OFFENDED BECAUSE OF THAT??? SO MEN BEING OFFENDED BY MEGALIANS IS A MUCH BIGGER ISSUE THAN WOMEN HAVING NO BASIC EQUAL RIGHTS BASED ON GENDER-BIASED LAWS? HOW BAFFLING! FEMINISM, THE TRUE ESSENCE OF FEMINISM, IS WHAT SHOULD BE DISCUSSED. NOT THIS.

Seriously, men and their ego. I AM SPEECHLESS! Yeah, let’s address the issue first on megalia because men are so offended by it. Yeah, apparently, megalia is so disturbing than women not having equal rights as men. Again, men’s ego is superior than women’s rights. Lol okay

  81. Name one person around you that picks up flaming hot sausage using only fingers. The ad itself is absurd. The designers probably wanted to (secretly) allude their sense of belongings as extreme feminists aka Megalians. Look up their eveil history. They even spycam and post naked pictures of Korean men (who are just normal people around them) to harass sexually.

  82. The word radical in “radical feminism” is wrongfully placed.
It is not “radical” by any means. People really don’t know what radical means.
It rather destructive or not feminism at all.

  83. While I don’t agree with this approach I am a bit bemused that there is such an outcry when many men find it ok to make fun of women’s looks or comment on their assets…I think it’s just showing up the hypocrisy of many men who have no respect for women

  84. at first i thought that hand gesture is sexual gesture (some of you might understand what im thinking) lol , because that hand gesture doesn’t mean small PP here in indonesia

  85. A single hand gesture in reference to male genitalia being small and everyone exclaims controversy and offense, yet women’s bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits have been torn apart and abused for centuries and still no one seems to care.

  86. Korea is discriminatory against women. There’s news of women committing suicide after being sexually assaulted several times a day. Women say they are being discriminated against for sexual damage, assault and promotion. But men call finger gestures discrimination. The first time this was an issue was started on a misogyny site. There is always news that women are being harmed, so misogynistic men have conspired to create news that men are being shunned as well. Korean women can not talk about feminist. Men are behaving violently. Not long ago, a female professor was attacked. The professor wrote a paper for feminist women. The men cursed and threatened the professor. Feminist women in Korea is attacked. Korea is a country where people who make child pornography are sentenced to one year in prison. Korean women can’t go to the bathroom because of hidden cameras. Korea has the highest crime rate of hidden cameras in the world. This is the truth.

  87. Women in Korea: 86% increase of illegal-filming-related sex crimes (between 2015 and 2019)
    34.6% gender pay gap
In 2019, it was estimated that at least one woman was ‘killed or nearly killed by her male partner every 1.8 days

Men in Korea: We are oppressed by feminists!

  88. That ad was clearly trying to gain attention by capitalizing on the controversy of the hand gesture/feminist logo. I disagree with the guy working in advertising, that wasn’t a coincidence, it was planned, and who approved it knew what they were doing.

  89. What’s crazy to me is backlash by loud netizens over public figures who even allude to being feminist or believing the feminist movement- such as having a shirt with a cheeky slogan or having a book in the background. Why is even alluding to being feminist seen as such a bad thing? Meanwhile, isn’t sexual harassment and dating violence high in South Korea?

  90. I wonder if it’s a thing to laugh about a woman’s physique (chest, bottom, etc.) in South Korea amongst men or in advertising. If it is, well, this is just the equivalent from women or advertising. (I’m not a fan of body shaming, but it’s important to recognize possible double standards.)

  91. why is feminism called radical or extreme but misogyny and sexism are not? The men are treated as innocent victims even though SK has a huge problem with violence against women, spycams in private spaces. revenge porn, sex trafficking, and the fact that the majority of SK men have used prostitution

  92. 🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏

  96. Fighting misogyny with misandry under the disguise of feminism — 🙁 come on, it does nothing but hold us all back. I hate how the word ‘Feminism’ has been misused, the true meaning of it has been lost in the bitterness of the ones who misinterpret and the ones who improperly use it.

  97. 我还以为新闻媒体是开玩笑只有小部分人这样认为,原来韩男大都认为小小的手势是专门用来嘲笑他们的,WTF。这该死的大男子主义,韩国女性受的压迫也太严重了

  98. To everyone watching this video: what these Megalia women are doing IS NOT FEMINISM. They are completely ruining the original purpose and premise of feminism. People like them is the reason why many don’t like feminism. Feminism means EQUALITY. What these women are doing is just ignorant and anti-feministic.

  99. Hmm, a country and its people can only move forward together by bringing up all of these issues. Creating a space for people to come together speak about inequality, sexism, racism, homophobia and etc. We must speak up and speak out. Otherwise, no change will occur.
    Look at Hong Kong.

  100. lol how is it that so many ads bodyshaming women are not taken down? for example, should ads for push up bras be taken down? it’s bodyshaming women’s breasts are too small.

  101. Well, “hit dogs will holler”…if a man is offended by this logo, maybe it’s true for them. The point is the issues the feminist groups want to bring attention to and rectify.

  102. Korean Misogynists: Nth room; Soranet; Park Won-soon; Ahn He-jung; Molka; fire women for getting pregnant; deny jobs to those who might get pregnant; try to financially ruin female celebrities for reading certain books; Burning Sun; Hong Joon-pyo.
Korean feminists: hurt men’s feelings with a cartoon.

  103. Just because some women are making fun of men, that doesn’t mean radical feminism is about “misandry”. Radical feminism is the only feminism that really cares about women and girls in our patriarchal societies.

  104. Aww this is PRICELESS!! These young men😂😂 Yes, young lady in red shirt. Feminism did start out as just as you said but it was same worldwide. Now…it is hateful screaming and just off the rails, anymore.

  105. there are so many things that the men in korea should be discussing and taking seriously yet they manage to find a sausage ad offensive and miraculously connect this to feminism, the reach it’s childish.

  106. I’d say it is much better to advocate for true equality and support for women than emphasizing the oppression of men. You see, unfairness and marginalisation does not occur between gender differences but rather in people’s perspectives. Because we cannot extirpate any evil motives against each other, we therefore cannot hope for a complete equality. Women, men, and any other genders need to think similarly (of course in a moral way) to promote equal freedom.

  107. If given energy to expand their ideals this feminism will get worst; I’m glad their being called out as negative and demeaning. There’s no need to promote such disrespectful symbolism or ideals on society regardless of one’s nation.

  108. I love Asian Boss they always do interviews on things that matter. Love to see peoples viewpoints on issues in Asia. We see too little about Asia, this is my go to channel.

  109. Men degrade women all the time, we all are plagued with living in highly patriarchal societies, women are undermined, humiliated, beaten, objectified in real life and media etc the list goes on and on and these people are upset cause some feminists put some hand gestures up and cause men (the apparent kings of world) got upset they’ve apparently taken it down. Go to hell to those crying insecure men.

  110. These echo chamber groups are all bad. Whether it’s racists, misogynists or misandrists. We need to work together. Not divide and attack others.

  111. Okay first of all, it’s called Radical Feminism not because it’s “radical” but because radical comes from the word Root, so it would have been great you got your facts right before recording this. Second, it’s called Radical Feminism because it goes to the root of inequality, that is the opression based on our Sex. Yes you read me right, sex not gender. Women, adult human females, are opressed by our sex with gender, all over the world. Misoginy is a global phenomenom reinforced precisely by gender stereotypes forced on us because we were born women. And third, it’s called Radical Feminism because the root of inequality is the same everywhere, therefore we are intersectional. Intersectional Feminism means we fight for all women born anywhere in the world, because we all live through the same opression. Feminists in Korea are fighting their way against patriarchy, and the fact that you didn’t bother adding their opinions or even reading about feminism before airing this piece shows how little you actually care about this. A shame.
Also, if men feel hurt because an emoji idk, maybe they should try for a day how it is feeling like you might be assaulted, recorded in your intimacy, or just treated like a lower being, for a day. They really have tiny d**ks if they are bothered by so little.

  112. feminism is not about genitalia. it gets in the way of movement. What should be about equality becomes rivalry. I hope you find a better symbol. This feeds stereotypes in the Asian man as well. I thought it was quite unnecessary

  113. While it is understandable that they are protesting against radical feminism but I hope that everyone can keep their mind open when it comes to the term feminism because radical feminism is only a part of it while gender inequality in may aspects is still a truth of this society.

  114. Can’t even say the word without my comment getting deleted. But this ”movement” is for ugly, unattractive women who can’t get any respectable men.

This movement is the most destructive in any country. It destroys women and it destroys families. I’m happy my Korean friends are fighting this.

  115. South Korea’s feminists to debasing its own soldiers and ignominious group that came out as a mockery of the people with disabilities in the military.

  116. Pretty dumbfounded by the girl saying that the company wouldn’t have taken the ad down if they didn’t feel guilty, that people would have accepted it (like they would lol). What a simple way of thinking.
The company and the designer got in so much trouble for publishing it, I honestly believe they added the emoji to target the younger generations, why would they chose to “‘””provoke””” men openly and publicly?
Everyone knows that, with the cancel culture, companies and people want to stay out of trouble, so if angry men starts complaining, of course they would have to take the ad down.
This “angry men movement” is kind of funny to see from a european woman perspective honestly. As if women made so much noise every time we are openly and directly critized or judged on our look by people or ads. How small is their ego to think that every time someone uses this emoji, it is mean to provoke them?

  117. I agree with the guy saying that it is a phase in the empowerment movement. I was in Australia when it went through this. I had female friends from uni who refused to even socialise with any men. I can sympathise with their frustration and anger, and I suspect it has to get to this point before the need to change is taken seriously, but society will come through it. But the men saying that they are being oppressed now, only feel that because they still don’t understand how patriarchy favours them.
The report really should have interviewed some members of the rad fem group tho.

  118. This is my biggest problem with feminism. I’d never heard about this until right now, but if a male activist group made a hand sign for Korean women having notoriously tiny breasts there would be international condemnation and death threats.

  119. so women can be degraded and looked down on socially and economically in south korea, but a funny image of small pp makes all the men enraged. seems fair.

  120. As a guy I find this hand symbol funny rather than insulting. I expect that the only reason some guys’ ego would be wounded from this if they can somehow relate to it. Poor feminists, their tactics are so crude and primitive, maybe someday they will catch up to men’s standards 😀

  121. Damn it radical feminists strike again. You’re ruining things for the rest of us; calm tf DOWN
It’s not equality if people aren’t treated equally! There are so many societal issues in Korea, that are just starting to get addressed.
Some Westerners have redefined feminism as flagrant misandry imo, and this is unfortunately catching on in a society where husbands do 30 mins of house work per week on average. Conversely, women hitting men is seen as extremely normal and even funny/cute sometimes which is also messed up.
What terrible timing for that camping ad.

  122. I think men should have some sign for female parts to make feminist triggered👌👈. Ohh wait no need of it. Simply existence of Men will trgger feminists.

  123. I’m not korean and tbh i have good sized D but that was still very offensive. But the korean people gave some really wise responses.

  124. It still surprises me over how educated and intelligent east asians are. They give thorough answers to random questions that they are asked on the streets. In my country greece, people barely say anything.

  125. The issue is the influence of the USA (not the smartest country regarding critical thinking) on the web.
    They have FB,Twitter,YouTube,Snapchat etc.

They have an influence specially on the younger generation where it seems that they have this sense of “progresophobia ».
It seems that they can’t see the amount of evolution our society has done in such a short time.
Mostly because those « debate » are rarely anchored in the present but mostly anchored in the past.

We’ve seen an unhealthy amount of neo-religion/ideological group identity, that is driven by hate, power and manipulative behaviour.

The media as usual is driven (these days) by clicks, views and money and not by information they have such an awful part into it. We have a lack of real journalism to spread knowledge.

If we take the example of Korea/Japan with the lack of women in the work field we see these neo-feminist trying to push « patriarchal excuses » where the simple solution is to help the mans who works 80+ hours per week to be able to NOT work this unhealthy amounts of hours. (Europe did it this way and many women are on the work field) and « if » we live in a equal society we shouldn’t be fearful of helping men too on the side.

This « untold » rule that only women suffer needs to stop. It took years to my own husband to be able to reduce his time at work to finally spend time and care with our family. It helped him, it helped me. It was not a matter of who will gain more or less but will it make us happier.

We need to give opportunities to women to work but if we don’t equally give the opportunity to men to reduce the amounts of hours to work we will never be able to give the women who desires to work a chance.

It’s not a men or women issues but a society issues and it is finally time that we work “together” on issues instead on fighting the “gender”. It goes the same for the most awful things like r*pe. It’s “one” men that did it not “all” men. it’s “one” women who abused a high school boy not “all women”.

We really need to make the difference between a “perpetrator’ gender and all the people who have the same gender.

The main idea to understand it’s that our societies as reach the fairest equality possible between men and women. (For the most developed country and democratic one – wink to some Muslim country who still can stone women…)

But we are pushed by these ideologues and neo-religion/ideology that we need to hate each other’s and more we are listening to them more our societies Will be divided , and less we will talk, discuss, debate of the most important issues that needs to be fixed. Megalia is the example here using hate and ideology to divide each other’s instead of listening one another.

  126. 3:00 This was controversial because not only the hand shape but also the last letter of each word becomes “megal” when combined. But there is no mention of this. There is no problem with the shape of the fingers, but the inclusion of words became a problem.

  127. I’m not so sure about this whole advertisement thing. Regardless of this particular feminist group using a questionable way to fight for women’s rights in SK, the mindset and approach of some men’s rights groups (especially regarding this hand symbol) is ridiculous. They’re seeing ghosts. A few weeks ago they called for a boycott of MMTG’s MC Jae Jae claiming she allegedly was part of the feminist group because she made this hand symbol. In reality she simply ate a piece of chocolate that she was holding with two fingers as one does.
Luckily the boycott didn’t work in this case but the comment sections were flooded with hate comments.

  128. It’s concerning that many gender issues have spread over the globe like a media imposed virus!? Why is every country debating gender problems, instead of the great things we all have achieved in the last 20 years. Divisions are being implemented in all parts of every society and culture. Wonder Why? 🤔

  129. There is no equality even between men. There is no equality at all. The only superior are the one who is rich and have good connections.

  130. Although it’s cool that there’s people fighting for women, especially since I have the impression that there’s women oppression in several Asian countries, this is just a low strike from feminists. My impression, from my study and knowledge about Korean culture and mentality, compared to western, Korean men seem pretty amazing, why would you degrade them? It’s like, they have no idea how lucky they are 🤨 Though, that’s how it usually goes, I guess 🤷‍♀️

  131. If women thinks that these radical femenists doesn’t represent the idea of femenism, then they should be firm that the word “femenisn” doesn’t use unnecessarily even by their peers.

  132. Body-shaming is offensive, doesn’t matter the victims are women or men but the toxic people who’re using this really inhumane hand gesture, should be boycotted from the public-space.

Beauty standards of Korea are already toxic and this new hysteria about size of genitals will make situations more venomous.

  133. I read that it was supposed to mean the gender gap between men and women but incels started getting offended and it got misinterpreted. I feel men are okay with feminism is okay as long as you tell them they are part of the problem. Patriarchy still gives men superiority, as long as they are privileged by their gender then feminism still is relevant. There was actually a petition by Korean men to domesticate women with almost 20k signatures. Women are better off now, but far off from true equity. Knetz are offended by literally everything anyway.

  134. Feminists and feminazis are entirely different. But because of dumb media, their public images have coincided.
By the way, I support men’s rights but not vilification of feminist movement. However, blaming men entirely for sexism is wrong. One can’t forget how women who have internalized misogyny also harm other women.

  135. Isnt it ironic that those radical feminist, the one who also preach self love and being confidence among women, doing those signs that clearly a form of body shaming? And the reason is bcs men have always been worse than that. Well I guess sexism is solved now? Yeay.

  136. Women want equal rights but not equal responsibility. Women in Korea are not oppressed. North Koreans are oppressed. So it’s funny to me how so many women feel this way. Women are free to do whatever they want here. They want equal opportunities but don’t want to do equal work. Go out and work construction or why don’t you become a plumber or garbage man. Why don’t you risk your life to protect this country and get no thanks for it because it’s a mans duty. Women in Korea are not happy apparently but instead of taking accountability they want to bring up how they don’t have equal opportunities. We Koreans are all very fortunate that we are not in North Korea where our people(yes they are our people) are being oppressed. Why don’t you try to help them? Women don’t want to because women don’t really care about people being oppressed. They care about themselves

  137. These movements are born out of desperation, things must be really bad for women in SK. Personally it’s hilarious to me that women trying to oppress men makes such big news when men have been doing that for centuries. Things only become big topics when men take interest in them and that just proves what kind of societies we live in

  138. Feminist 1990= wants everyone to be equal

Feminist 2021= women blaming men as the reason for their failures.
Very much women who are entitled to have everything handed to them.

And y’all are wondering why majority of rich people are men? It’s because men are not entitled. If we have problems we man up. We don’t wait for everything to be handed to us, we don’t get support by other people, we support ourselves

  139. What makes the gender discourse in Korea so frustrating is that it’s almost exclusively discussed from a reactionary perspective based on male fragility, as opposed to actually considering the real issue — why is the quality of life for Korean women ranked so poorly by the OECD? Ask these men how ashamed they are of the myriad of ways in which a woman’s public safety doesn’t exist in Korea due to laxed laws against sexual assault or the spy cam epidemic. It’s a disgrace that Korea has made such leaps and bounds in terms of its economic development but at the same time has done a terrible job assimilating women into this new economy whereby they have the same right to opportunity and public safety as their male counterparts. There’s probably an incredibly complex reason why these “radical” feminists exist, maybe we should be more curious as to why they’re so upset with society as opposed to simply ostracizing anyone who hurts our feelings or stirs the pot.

  140. If you don’t fight for women, then why should we fight for men?? Lol since abortion ban is coming back, fk men’s feeeelings at this point.

  141. I’m sorry but this is so funny to me, how offended they are about that stupid sign but not when they see women raped of harrased on the streets, come on put the same energy on serious matters

  142. South Korea is really developing socially, at light speed. These topics may seem small but they reflect larger more important themes. Btw that advertising worker really summarised the issue concisely.

  143. Having a sign is ok, as soon as you don’t let ppl misunderstood and confuse. I guess in this case is very offensive for Korean men, that’s not good representation for the feminist side and for women. It just made it worst for gender equality cause you made it more visible, and misleading. changing that logo would definitely help themselves as women and for future generations, hopefully… lol

  144. men saying women should fight for equality with ‘peaceful’ manners that dont degrade or demean men are funny, if you look back historically no oppressed group got equality or human rights by being ‘peaceful’, no one hears your voice if you just politely ask for things you want. look up the feminist movement in england ‘suffragette’ they also started harmless but because they were ignored they had to radicalize themselves. these women live in a country where male dominance is very prominent, which is now causing the uproar. you think asking the oppressor to give them rights will have them nod, and suddenly solve the issue and give women equal rights? naive thinking.

  145. All I can say is be kind and understanding to yourself and to others. If we live like this feminist.. LGBTQ and other groups do not need to fight for there rights. Also we should learn to process this kind of situations. Do you think this radical feminist group deserves any support?

  146. I used to call myself a feminist in early 2020. All I know was feminism is about equal rights for both women and men. I was like, oh yeah of course, why not? Equal rights isnt a bad thing. But then it kinda put me off that a lot of feminist I met online are just plain rude to men. Like, for no reason. They’re blaming everything on men. I didnt really care abt this at first, thinking that it was probably just some of them, but it got worse. When I voice my opinion that happens agaisnt these feminist, they call me out. If I stand by someone who happens to be a man, I get called out pick me girl or even internalized misogynist. I was confused. Im also a feminist so why having a different opinion considered as betrayer? And the more I realized, all they can do is just screaming equality with no context, and blame everything on men. They’re trying so hard to picture all men are trash.

And then I had a comversation with my brother abt the whole gender issue. I was so persistent that feminism isnt bad, only a few of them. I was really in a denial. But as I talked with my brother, it opened my mind that the feminism that we know thesedays (radical feminist), isnt going to solve anything. I then decided to stop calling myself a feminist or just stop labelling myself as a part of a certain group. A specific movement with so many people in it can get really toxic so fast. Just remember this, you dont have to be a feminist to fight for equality. Being a woman doesnt mean you have to be a feminist. Being a man who isnt a feminist, doesnt mean you’re being misogynist. You dont need to be an activist to be a decent human being. Just be kind and respectful to other people regardless of gender or any other differences.

  147. I like what the woman in red says, she’s right. As a feminist from Europe I have noticed that many koreans share the same hopes as feminists. The problem is that this “feminism” in Korea should’ve never been called a feminism. Feminism has never been about dragging men down. The fundamental thing of feminism is equality, it’s not just a group of women who want sth new. Men can be, and are feminists too. That radical thing is anything but not feminism. I’d rather call it “feminazism” but you should never call them (and they should never call themselves) a feminist. Especially that even feminists hate those feminazists, because media loves to show us as feminazists, and due to that we are unable to properly spread our message of equality. Feminazists hurt not only men.. 기억하세요~ ^^

  148. Its hilarious S.Korea is a patriarchal society with toxic masculinity when they have the most beta men in arguably all of Asia if not the world. If patriarchy can exist in a society where men are pathetically frail little 45kg dweebs who pack out stadiums to play shitty video games, maybe its the fault of the women. I support this radical feminist group.

  149. It’s easy for extremists and even less radical feminists to kidnap the word feminist so that regular people, who actually want fait equality between men and women, can’t use the word anymore for it’s original meaning. People are not wrong in connecting it with the more radical feminist movement because they are the ones using the word the most and they are the ones you see in media the most. You don’t often see regular people as feminists, it’s a silent opinion who doesn’t need to make as much noise as the extreme. Any discrimination, good or bad, is wrong. To target people based on their gender is just another form of marxism which is all about categorizing people into good and bad, and to attack the so called bad. They think they are such victims that it justifies them to behave this way. Probably they do not realize they become people nothing better then the people they think they hate.

  150. I’d be super interested in Asian Boss interviewing these “radical feminists” in Korea. I feel like there’s much more to be said from them.

  151. Imagine if the men started spreading posters about how Korean women are flat. Both genders have their own insecurities. These radical feminists are one of the biggest reasons why the actual feminists are also looked down upon. At some point, people will obviously start generalizing.

  153. Taking the current wave of feminists seriously!! Yeah, right! 😅

Also, funny how height and pp size shaming which are genetically determined, is considered normal by femnasties. But fat-shaming, which 8/10 times is your own doing and not some bodily imbalance, is deemed fat-phobic, misogynist and what not. 🤔

  154. People want equality in theory but not in practice. If a company sets a $100,000 budget for 2 models for a commercial, and the man gets $80,000 while the woman gets $20,000, the men think that is perfectly fine. The woman is getting the modeling job as well so there should be no complaints. But both are doing the same thing, so why should the man get the $80,000? Men aren’t actually household breadwinners. Compared to what women bring in, they are the minority contributor. So, for equality to exist the male and female models need to get $50,000 each. But the men don’t like the reality of equality so then the pushback comes. And with that women get louder because now they know that men are actively oppressing them.

  155. To me, the issues I have with radical feminism is that they want it both ways. They can insult the male gender while taking offense to anything they deem sexist in anyway. That is why it’s radical. Short sighted, closed minded and very very selfish way of demanding their way. Good Luck Korea, we here in the US has been dealing with this complete one sided BS for a couple of decades

  156. It about context and mentality not symbol, there was a tiktok trend “I’m this close to” with same hand posture so that doesn’t mean we are talking about pp here

  157. I think they are not feminist because we want men and women equally not suppressed anybody all have equal rights but in Korea it kind of funny as well 😂😂

  158. This is not even radical feminism. Yes, sometimes time demands you to be radical. But what megalian is doing is insulting feminism. Feminism is against toxic masculinity. As much it talks about women’s rights it also talks about how patriarchy suppresses men. It talks about men’s mental health, how they are more than money-making machines. How their emotions matter. As a feminist, I am against this act done by Megalian. People already misinterpret feminism, you are making it harder for us to make them understand that feminism is for everybody.

  159. Their whole justice system favours men instead of women so seeing the rise of extreme feminism is not so surprising 😔.. I recommend everyone to watch the korean movie “hope” which is based on true events. The way the justice system worked in that case made my blood boil.

  160. People need to understand feminism is about making women’s live better, not making men’s live hell.
We are not at war. It’s NOT Women vs Men. No one will win in such a fight.

  161. People are confusing radicalism with feminism. Any “ism” can be radicalized, but it does not mean that original one is. This video really brings out the incels and bigots out of the woodwork into the comment section lol

  162. The problem is that both sides are trying to win. There is no “winning”. It’s not a competition. Why can’t we all just collaborate and cooperate with each other?

  163. Korean feminists are usually radicals. That’s why whenever some female idol promotes the idea of feminism or tries to show support to it they get thrashed by men.

  164. Ugh, Radfems kill my vibe. The majority of them are only radical dbags online and presumably to their partners (not all of them are lesbian and/or celibate) and do a disservice to the so-called Movement. Makes those who understand more of the core of the first-second wave feminism look bad…..(watering this down in summation) one should not be denied equal Personhood under the law/in Society based on their sex, and that physical sex does not guarantee innate proportions of intellect, job/voter/social competence, etc (or ineptitude), etc. This also would include men, trans, intersex.. anyone with nads. Yes there are parts of feminism that focus specifically on women’s issues but the underlying principle remains the same.
Sometimes I wonder whether these self proclaimed radfems dont want things to be equalized, deep down they just want to reverse roles out of spite.. haha

  165. feminism
    Gender issues
    Boy and girl equality
There would have been a better animal than this, there was no nepotism feminism gender issues 😂

  166. For white guys who are watching this video: If you were “planning” to go to East Asia to find a woman not radicalized by feminism, abort that “plan” 😀

  167. Just ignore the idiots who came up with such a stupid advert. They have the mental capacity of a 5 year old. They’re just seaking attention, don’t give them any and they’re pretty much done for. Don’t fall for these cheap tricks.

  169. Ah yes the classic alienate potential supporters. Easy tactic to divide and conqueror. Who ever did this is pulling serious strings or an idiot. Same with race and gender issues in the US.

  170. When South Korea falls to the radical feminists (just like what happened to the US and Canada) they’ll see an increase of men going their own way and getting redpilled.

  171. I think everywhere in the world we’re fighting over some issues or the another and the end result is we’re divided in many ways but we need to be united not divided.
I agree with that girl in red, some organisations are not working for actual cause they’re just fueling such issues world wide.

  172. The feminist movement has created more problems than it has helped. I understand the reasoning for women wanting to be treated equal as men we all as humans would like to be treated with respect and have our voices be heard. However the movement has only created divisions within western society that cannot be fixed in my opinion. I’m not really sure what the so called feminist really want and women in western society have more freedom then women have ever had in the history of the world but still complain about not getting equal rights? Men are not being appreciated anymore and the media is trying to bring down men. I believe if women truly want equal rights in Korean society they should be held to the same standards. Men in Korea are forced into military service while women are given a choice. How is that equal rights? Men do most of the dangerous jobs that modern women would never even think about doing and only want equal opportunities if it benefits them. I don’t see how this will get any better. There are many movements in America and other western societies like the Red Pill movement and MGTOW movement that I believe will adopted in Korea to counter all these radical so called feminist. The question I would ask is are women truly more happier in modern western society than they were in previous generations? Statistics show they are not and men are getting tired of this and it’s getting worse

  173. LMAO.

  175. This people are not really feminist, feminism pursues equality, not superiority. Feminism is not the same thing as being a male chauvinist.

  176. I hope they go back to the traditional feminism because doing something that will just hurt the pride of males as a symbol will make them less popular and effective with both men and women.

The company that pulled down the ad did it right. If the message you are sending out is hurtful and makes no other sense, admit your error and do something positive. Now it is that feminist site’s turn.

  177. Correct! What would these women federation feel when the tables are turned? Like men federation making gestures degrading women?

Equality is not an excuse to show hate.
Equality is not war between sexes

    What were they thinking?

  178. Modern feminists, as one of the women said, have strayed from the fundamental values of feminism. They are so progressive that they’d support a biological male trump over real women in sports and actually cause harm to real women, etc

  179. it’s interesting to see street interview about this topic. For international people out there, in Korea, Feminist is used as a bad word. Especially on the internet, so many men call someone “Feminist” to degrade them and make fun of. I think too much radical feminism is out of sense and irrational but when I see the online battle about this topic in korea, I’m literally out of my mind. Even if you say something right, they immediately call you ‘femi’ and make fun of you, cuss you etc. not joking fr lol

  180. It’s yet ANOTHER attempt to sew division amongst the sexes, ages, races, religions, etc. Seriously if people just ignore the immature stupidity promoted by the media, THERE IS NO ISSUE. It goes away.

  181. Korean are so radical in patriarchism and seniority, this is why feminism is so radical there.

They are always more radical in any aspects.

  182. Imagine when this issue gets so big that the symbol becomes banned from any public place or women prohibited to use their hands to grab their snacks, kids will ask what’s wrong with the hand gesture. The men will say, “it is because that symbol is body shaming us”. Kid be like, “what is body-shaming in that?” And the men be like, “bc it says we have a D so small that two fingers alone can grab it”. Kid replies, “said who?” And men will finally say, “by a bunch of angry women”. Kid finally say, “oh, so we are not patriarchal afterall” 😂

  183. As i know feminism is pursuing gender equality in social, political and etc. in other words justice and there will be no justice when u do it with an unjustified act like insulting or try to downgraded others it will create conflict and create a larger gap of inequality so this is a contradicted act for the feminism itself.

  184. how to beat down ur enemy efficiently?

split them up to two groups, then have them fighting each other nonstop

who’s laughing now? who’s winning from this?

  185. Wait the hand sign really means ‘u have small pp’? I was just joking! What a childish, degrading symbol to use for something as noble as equality for women.

  186. It’s seem feminism is going to destroy Asian nation the same way it destroyed western Europe, I don’t think most of these Nation will survive after 50-75 years due to low birth rate

  187. These people claiming to be ‘feminist’ need to stop. The socio-political implication they’re trying to push is being called feminist but really they’re just exacerbating the situation.

  188. So these korean feminists are okay if they become western’s sex slave. It’s huge and good tho, definitely not related to that symbol.

  189. So a bunch of insecure Korean dudes are taking offence because some loudmouth insignificant group of Karens decided to publically say “haha your pp smol”? Cry about it.

  190. When those interviewed say the believe in gender equality, and the small number of crazies in the comments still claim they just want to hurt women… It’s as if they want to prove the point…

  191. Sad that Feminism has lost it’s meaning these days, some radical men haters just turn Feminism into Feminazism and Matriarchal Fascism.

I genuinely believe that there is some great feminist out there, but the ones who created the mess are just Feminazis.
If you wanna blame those women who made all men hate feminism, blame those Feminazis.

  192. Maybe the feminists are trying to show men what it feels like to be objectified?😐 I don’t think there’s going to be an equilibrium in the society. World always moves towards chaos.

  193. I must say the radical fem1nism in South Korea is Nothing like the world has ever seen .
Recently there was a Major Seoul Mayor election it was observed that men in their 20s voted for a Conservative party in a whopping 73% even more than men above 60s, when asked why , they only said that voted conservative because it simply opposed fem1nism , this is dangerous , a radicalisation between men and w0men in a society isn’t good !

  194. I’m curious about what other tactics they have. Radical feminism in a radical conservative society makes a lot of sense, but I’d expect to hear more about for example separatist feminism instead of lol smol pen

  195. Inside looking out and outside looking in is completely different. All these comments can make the assumptions they want about Korean society, but only Koreans know that feminism in SK has been grossly derailed by the radical approach, far from its original beneficial intentions, therefore the negative attitude towards it by most Koreans are justified. I hope that our society can see positive change through cooperation and dialogue instead of mindless bashing and polarization 🙏

  196. Thanks for continuing to bring great videos on hot topics. Hope finances are much better for you guys now. If you ever need more shoutouts let me know. I will share.

  197. just saying, as a feminist, i think i would get radicalized in less than a week if i went to skorea 🤷 i’ll always be grateful by the efforts made on my own country in the past decades 🙌

  198. I am Korean man and it’s funny cuz these korean radical feminists also curse their own dad and grandpa only because they are korean “male”.

  199. Radical feminists are not only belittling men but also belittling women’s serious problems. We usually see news on social media about many harassment cases happening there especially that one related to the telegram group; men and women are also put under the pressure of beauty standards there. I mean when you have real serious issues why would you ignore them and act like a baby?🤦‍♀️
+ we want to get rid of oppression not to shift it!
I am really upset as a feminist myself

  200. This feminist movement has been around since President Park in terms of flexing power. It’s extremely toxic and subversive. South Korea has a lot of demons to shake out.

  201. Thinking either gender is superior to the other is sexism. Saying hating men is radical feminism is an oxymoron. You can’t believe in equality and believe in inequality between the same groups.

  202. feminism in korea will surely improve if men make the effort to also show they support women in issues like harsh laws in things like sexual assault, p0rn and online attacks on women. every new article i see over the law treatment of cases concerning women are another reason for me never put a foot in skorea and wish all korean women strenght and good luck in the future

  203. To people defending radical feminism:
Men are not immune to disadvantages in this society. Yes women do have it worse for most of history but today people are speaking out against these issues and it is already a well known problem that the future will certaintly change accordingly.

Men’s problems on the other hand have 0 news coverage and is completly ignored. The men’s version of women’s body shaming is being shamed for their stability (money, height, masculinity). Because for the longest time in history, women were valued for beauty and age due to feritility and men were valued for stability and protection. These are still ingrained in our minds till this day. However, no one complains about that because as men, we were taught to be an emotionless rock and never complain no matter how hard it gets. We honestly need to look at issues from both sides to really get both sides to work together. One side shaming the other is not going to get the other side to support them.

  204. Modern-day feminism is a joke anyway. all it is, is women blaming and hating men for all their issues. western feminists are misandrists. Whilst I do thing changes need to happen in asia, especially south Korea were spy cams are a cross and disgusting trend that needs die out, I can see why the movement is there and I support the message it has. However, going as far as body-shaming is crazy, if that becomes normalized by women, then men will repeat the same thing to women and the issue will never end. make your point and fight for your belief sure, be a sexist body shamer then no. Legit western women shouldn’t comment on this because they are misandrists. the don’t actually fight for equality compared to this movement.

  205. 9:01 seconds before and after this timeline. The mam with mic is completely wrong. We are not against feminism, but against radical feminism or fake feminism. Both are very different things. Former is for equal rights, understandable. The latter one is regarding superiority over men, completely ridiculous. The consequences of latter part will only be increased heat between two genders, not good for both.

  206. I am a feminist and I think Korea needs the feminist cause.
Crazy beauty standards for women, spycams everywhere, lots of creeps who follow not only Korean females, huge gender gaps in salaries…
Nevertheless, I DO NOT AGREE with the mindset of those females who every time they have the opportunity, humiliate men in name of the feminist movement.
That’s so wrong and I feel so sorry for those who know this beautiful community through those behaviors.
In Mexico, we also have “feminists” like the ones mentioned in the video but they’re not that relevant to us. Because we know that hate only separates us from our unique goals which are equality, equity, and respect, and I think men should know that putting every single one of us in the same bag is not the key to solve this problem.
Even if you still don’t want to be a feminist or be an ally, or just be with us, PLEASE RESPECT US.

  207. radfem no significa eso en teoría feminista que yo sepa🤔 wouldnt it be better to call it extremist or something else

  208. Oop looks like Korea is having a 2016 reactionary moment. I dislike radfems just as much as the next gal, but 60% of Korean men opposing feminism in general? yeesh

  209. A fews days back on naver someone wrote that
“korean men need to stop watching p*** in their rooms get out and actually see the world”
“korean men need to stop with their secret cameras in female restrooms and hotel”

  210. Feminism is satanic…..(Source: Per Faxneld (2017) ‘Satanic Feminism: Lucifer as the Liberator of Woman in Nineteenth – Century Culture’ , Oxford University Press)…..Please do your own research…..and “stay curious” 😁

  211. It sucks how Korean women now should be careful of eating their snacks by hand just because some men were pissed at a symbol used by an extremist group which they themselves give a body-shaming meaning to.

  212. This is an embarrassment and shows how much a disease entitlement can be. Femalists think think they’re owed something even when they’re not. So they use this as a weapon to get their way.

This isn’t about equal rights it’s about control plain and simple. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free. There is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Sorry for repeating scripture here for the non-christians in the room but entitlement is the true disease of mankind. I suppose I shouldn’t say that since I’ll probably trigger some feminist snowflake!!

  213. Dr Khan noonian Singh says:

  214. All these radical feminists and people defending them act like women is constantly oppressed and have no advantages in this world and men have no disadvantages and are never oppressed. Men have disadvantages too, for example, Only men have to enlist in military, when a ship sinks, the women and children leave first and the men have to stay, etc. I’m not saying men are oppressed than women. Women are more oppressed throughout history but nowadays, everyone knows about the injustices women face and has became an issue that everyone is aware of. However, men’s issues are completely ignored because society paints men as 100% privileged with no disadvantages in society. It’s like saying would you rather be the victim or be labeled as the villain regardless of whether u are or not.

  215. 1:10 that R8 looking sweet and thank you for bringing this issue to light
Its nice to see other people’s views and opinions on this topic

  217. feminism is not about disintegrating one’s dignity in order to prevail their motion .
Also u don’t necessarily have to be hostile and spread hate when ur working for something great like ” Equality”. I know women have always been oppressed in the past and just not in the past even in the present time they are oppressed but are we to do the same thing as they did to us then how are we any better than those morons ( wanna use this word for people who have been oppressing women and who haven’t been treating them as human). What I mean is if a dog bites u , u aren’t gonna bite him back . Right!!

  218. Remember women if men never wanted you to succeed men could have very well done so.
They had everything to allow their progress and keep women as slaves.
Still generalising men as superficial and shallow wont solve your problems.
It was from among men who wanted that women be given equal rights and addressed the situation by giving equal rights as without their help the situation would have been of patriarchy.
We need to get solutions with their help and not turn this movement against them.

  219. Maybe “meninists” should make a logo depicting a woman with small boobs and a man laughing at that, just to show how stupid this is, but we know that won’t happen. We’re in a clown world right now where people actually trust mainstream news, there is a concept such as “free speech exists, if there’s no hate speech”, cancelling people for differing opinions exists, it’s ok to be racist against white people, sucking off dry politicians (no nuance at all) just cause they’re in your camp exists, yelling about your sexual preferences… 24/7 exists, denying biology exists, and choosing to take (or not) a vaccine is a political thing now and if you don’t you’re literally the worst person in the world. At this point, I am not surprised at all about the subject of the video. I’m just curious to see what people will come up with next, and if it will ever stop being normal or not, if society will actually get past this or just keep getting much worse. By the way, in South Korea, men are forced to give up 2 years of their life to join the army while women are not.

  220. So, let me get this straight, saying Korean men have small genitals is oppression? That just shows how minuscule their problems are compared to what women have to face in the daily just because they’re women.

  221. totally useles if this kind a feminist group existence only to attack man and no deep aim. They should defend the interests of women, not criticize men.

  222. I’m not sure but from a lot comments, I thought that the gesture was not only referring to the male size but also representative of a small male ego?

  223. S Korea being a Christian Country
I felt sad seeing this because these women don’t realise they are practicing Jezebelic practices and may have the Jezebel spirit
I pray those who are reading this to be wary of the situation because many would be decieved
    May Jehovah be with you
    Disclaimer: dont be offended
There are many bad men and women out there and few good people nowadays
so this is not a generalisation but the few who don’t realised how the world had been decieving men and women and not even realsing it because their subconsious mind is what get them affected.

  224. It’s sad that this is what koreans have as representation of feminism, considering they do have pretty pressing matters regarding inequality, it would be great to have a strong feminist movement with serious representatives.

  225. Feminism was originally about striving for gender equality. Now it’s turned into toxic emasculation as if that’s some kind of female empowerment. Talk about being counterproductive.

  226. Original meaning of feminism: women’s rights
At this moment in Korea, meaning of feminism: male hate

Abstract nouns (feminism, honour, democracy etc.) represent ideas and mean different things at different times to different people.

What does ‘feminism’ mean? That isn’t easy to define. Is male hate an aspect of feminism?

IMO it’s important to stop calling them feminists because the word 페미니즘 has been corrupted to mean ‘male hate’.

  227. Personally I wanna hear more from Korean women. Since they are getting murdered ( and the police are not even looking into the cases)

  228. Whats happening in SK happened in other developed countries in the past too. Its called Hegelian Dialetic(things go to the extremes on a issue before they tend to simmer down and balance out) so these radical feminists will give rise to people who support men’s issues too. Then both issues will be given significance(can bee seen in the US, UK , Germany, japan) then each sides issues will be discussed without degrading the other side, at last ppl will learn to respect both sides

  229. I sorta don’t like the implication that they’re calling themselves ‘radical feminists’. I identify myself as one and I can guarantee that’s not what the radical feminist ideology is about. This is just body shaming. Radical Feminist Ideologies would include unisex trans friendly bathrooms, abolishment of prostitution and porn industries, rehabilitation for sex workers, and body posiitivity. Although I do not know entirely abut what the women were trying to do. It could be a satirical subversive poster, but even then a company’s logo isn’t the best place for a satirical statement as people tend to take that literally

  230. Well this toxicity exists in all developed nations today to be fair. Men have become more toxic masculine but women say that men are just as toxic as ever but without knowing the hard skills how to get their hands dirty and build stuff lol.

  231. I find it amusing that feminists have to stoop that low by telling all men that they all have small PP’s for the sake of their rights.

  232. How disappointing! You didn’t talk to women about the issues they deal with every day! And you should have searched the meaning of ‘radical feminist’

  233. In South Korea sexual harassment runs rampant (98% of sexual harasser are men, 86% of victims are women). There is an average of more than 3 cases per f@cking minute….so yeah the stupid men saying they’re offended for having feminists is quite the neardental mindset.
I only wished they would get this offended when they saw or heard the millions of women struggling with harassment and unequal rights, salaries and access to the same opportunity their male counterparts enjoy.

  234. The fact that ppl are talking about women empowerment rather than men and women are equal …will create the same situation for men in future …than men empowerment will start and the cycle will keep on going …

  235. The comments here are vile.. yikes .. As long as men aren’t systematically oppressed, there’s no such thing as ‘radical feminism’ actually present. Women are still murdered and raped on a weekly basis on South Korea and these men walk away freely, yet they complain about radical feminism because some irrelevant women make some mean jokes? They should get over themselves.

  236. As a korean I dont know if you guys know, but in our country ONLY MEN are expected to give up 2 YEARS of their precious youth (where they could have achieved many professional milestones) to serve in the army while those who dont serve get a upper hand at moving on with their careers. If we refuse we get sent to jail. But whenever men’s issues are brought up without mentioning or degrading women, most feminists say is ” BuT wOMen HaVE it WorSE” totally unrelated to the issue being discussed and which doesn’t contain any sollution.

  237. The word feminism is so sensitive in Korea that they didn’t get the opportunity to debate it in public or school. I hope the society develops culture of tolerance and open about it. Then, they can discuss more openly that feminism is not putting down men but just about gender equality. Men in my country are less sensitive even though they don’t accept everything abt gender equality. There are many more to learn about feminism and gender equality.

  238. the fact that these insecure men are attacking ads from multiple unrelated companies is so stupid. they want to claim that everyone and everything is a radical feminist like they don’t have a day job or something, it’s so pathetic

  239. Although i do believe that Asia could use some egalitarianism (and with some i mean a lot), believe me you don’t want feminism there. It has become a plague here in the west. Asian people that live in Asia, current feminism does not look for equal treatment of the sexes. Curently is nothing but a political tool that achieves absolutely nothing of value other than being used to manipulate the population.

Right now in the west feminism’s biggest achievment has been instigating fear towards men on the women and contemp towards women on the men. Iif you want equal treatment of the sexes in front of society and the law current feminism is not what you want.

  240. US feminists don’t usually embrace phalocentric iconography so I have to wonder if this was a joke that got out of hand or if this is really central to a movement. Being pro-woman or pro-feminity has had a long hard road differentiating itself from being anti-male or anti-masculine, seems strange to blatantly invite that criticism.

  241. Meanwhile I use that sign to signal people to wait a little bit, or a little bit more.
People to sensitive nowadays, people should learn how to ignore other people comments and learn not to take things personal.

  242. I thought the hand was making fun of people wearing 깔창 or shoe inserts lol men are able to point out physical traits they find unattractive or not satisfactory, women can do the same.

  243. You know it’s bad when the woke gender ideology you see in the Hollywood mainstream beings to trickle down into other regions of the world. 😩

  244. Ultimately, constant fighting between the sexes on the issue of sexism will only cause more divide. Only solution is to hear both sides problems without putting anyone side’s issue down as less significant than the other and work towards the solution for those specific issues without insulting the other side

  245. Women being objects all the time in publicity, and killed, and raped, and dimiscriminated. Men crying for one poster with a sausage

  246. If Korean women want to degrade men in Korea then the Korean men in power should take away more of their equality. It’s simple. lol

  247. It’s terrible that something made for gender equality has been twisted into female superiority. It’s just wrong, they not only make an enemy of the opposite sex, but their own as well. :/

  248. I can only say how I would feel in that situation as I’m an outsider but umm… The value on women (in general) over there isn’t very high and body shaming is ingrained into their society with subtle gaslighting sometimes straight offensives.

I’m not saying two wrongs make a right but the women making a statement like that is a product of their environment and I think men dont want to see that either. To be reduced to having value by a physical aspect.

    …But thats my opinion😪

  249. Imagine being born as same flesh blood and bones by your parents and then depending on what gender you are born as one is discriminated against by prevailing current culture. Asian women are hypersexualized while asian men are emasculated and even for black folks their social status can change since birth as black men are desired while black women are least desired in the market.

  250. When the target became men from women, entire society becomes super sensitive. And it represents how Korean society is.

Don’t get me wrong, doesn’t matter the gender, I believe we are all equal and we shouldn’t hate each other just because of that.

  251. Yesterday Men were demeaning, today women are. Tomorrow men will take revenge. Tomorrow women will. Its a vicious cycle.

Feminism stands for Equality and Respect for all , without demeaning anyone. So this is just dumb and does not qualify as Feminism. This is just gender bias and hate

  252. There is always human being that have their own agenda to make another human pitch on each other. Man and woman can work together just fine without any prejudice, just fill in each other gap. Back then, media keep on empowering woman but not man. Now, media potray man as a fragile figure by using handsome soft man, the woman usualy very tough one with pretty face. Realistically, since i have been married, if i ran 100 metre with my husband, my husband still win. I have daugther and son, both need empowerment. Male can do so much more with empowerment as well. So, things like this. I dont like it. Why do the need to against each other, while we can try to work together.

  253. The gist is that the 🤏 pinching hands emoji has upset the men’s rights types who believe feminism has gone too far.
This is South Korea one of the most unequal countries in the world.
Out of 144 countries they are:
127th for Economic Participation and Opportunity
    101st for Educational Attainment.
A country that has high rates of violence against women and the problem is men with fragile masculinity.
There’s really no self awareness with these men.
South Korea is famous for sexism, this doesn’t help that perception at all.
The country is at the level where a convenience store thought it alright to say they don’t hire feminists.

  254. Problem is that radical groups – by the very nature of their aggressiveness – have taken over media, channels of communication, so the media presents them as normal. But then you see that normal is very different, such as is seen in these interviews. The media is evil. It should be destroyed and then rebuilt with radicals expunged and refused dominating with their evil influence.
