June 2011 Move to Mactan

We have completed the move to Mactan Island made necessary so Marianne can attend college at Southwestern University. We are in the Tumulak Village Lapu-Lapu City Philippines This is the second time we lived in this sub division. If you wish to visit check with the Guard he knows where we are. I don’t know the mailing address here yet and will update as soon as I get it.  Also I have posted directions here.

We are in a one story town house apartment, 2 bedroom, living and kitchen with laundry area for P6,500 monthly, not too bad.

The reason for the move is so Marianne can attend College at South Western University in Cebu City, she is studying to be a Pharmacist. The College is almost 3 hours from our Bogo house. In the Philippines when you attend any school you are in a uniform. Marianne is in a white blouse and skirt that looks like a Nurse’s uniform. I will add more photos here later. Here are a few of the apartment and area.

There are two units in this compound our is the second one next to our car and motorcycle
Gate leading into our compound, the big house is the owner

There are some nice properties here
Kitchen, door goes to laundry area

Living room area

CR or Comfort Room to us Americans it a Bathroom and it is USA style. Notice lack of seat and bucket of water to wash your but with and no toilette paper, what to do... Wash your but with water much cleaner than the US way using paper.

Felicity standing by the front door, check out those shoes she has to wear for school and her uniform.

Two bamboo cabinets I purchased for P375 each for clothing
Bed fro now is just a mattress on the floor Filipino style.
My work area and office, notice the Fender Bass amp I had shipped via balikbayan box. These things are expensive here in the Philippines, but relatively cheap in the US. There is a smaller Fender amp above it and my laptop and for work.
Another shot of the Fender Amps and curtains.

My work area inside the bedroom. That's a nice steel model car, can you figure out what it is?
Here you see Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City in central Cebu
