IRON BALLS was created in 2015 by Ashley Sutton, a straight-talking modern day pirate and daredevil bar designer from Western Australia. Ash fell into bar design through a combination of luck and unstoppable determination, and he is now responsible for some of the most recognizable jaw-dropping bar designs across Asia. Having grown up in a family of sailors, the ocean is where Ash feels most at home. When he isnโ€™t working on his next design project youโ€™ll find him navigating on-board, or diving beneath, his boat Infamis.

Having built a bar design empire across Asia, Ashley Sutton decided it was about time he created his own spirit. Founded in Bangkok in August 2015, the IRON BALLS distillery license was the first to be granted in Thailand in 31 years. Ash imported the best stills he could find from Germany and engineered the distilleryโ€™s hybrid distillation system himself. The time from inception to production took three & a half years, over 600 recipes, 2000 runs & all the money & property Ash had.

    1. @Matt In every way….Infrastructure, food etc etc…Bangkok most visited city in the world in 2016,2107,2018 and was second most visited city in the world in 2019(Look it up….Travel guide international…Google or Wiki will help u)The whole of Philippines did not get visitors which one city in Thailand got…..Thailand 10th most visited country in the world(U want links?)Philippines not even in the top 25……Thailand’s tourist industry 5times larger than the Philippines….but then again coming back to our previous discussing UR entitled to your opinion and I’m to mine….That’s why i keep on repeating opinion differs and prefers…..There will be people who will disagree with the 2 of us and think its better in Bali….To each their own!

    2. @Storm Woods yes and it’s only your opinion that Thailand tops the Philippines. In your opinion in what ways does Thailand top the Philippines ? Are you talking for a holiday or for the expat ?

    3. @Matt That’s your opinion…..And u seemed to have missed the point……Read my original comment…Thailand tops Philippines.Ur going off track here but I’ll repeat it anyway opinion differs and prefers…….

    4. @Storm Woods no that’s wrong because if money is not a issue, There are far better places than Thailand. People go to Thailand because it is meant to be cheap. Thailand will never get the super rich because it’s not that sort of place

  2. Iron balls !! Hangin’ around the knees at the moment with this bloody hot weather. Interesting place, will have to check it out when in BK. Great vid mate.

  3. Not a Gin drinker myself (as everyone knows – 555), but that would certainly be worth a shot (pun intended)! Very interesting.
    Thanks Jonny.

  4. Sounds like you’ve never been on a Boat Johnny? it took awhile for you to catch on as to the design of the bottles. I might give it a try next time I am in country as I’ve not drunk Gin since my early twenties.
