I had a birthday a few years back and maybe I can show you some party pics from Sinaman, Mindanao. I would guess that nobody who lived in the Philippines more than a year would not recognize these scenes. Here is my house, no water or CR.
The day starts at 2 AM killing the pigs (nobody sleeps). Then build the fire and put um on a spit… MMMM good Letchon!
The sign reads ” happy birthday daddy” At the time I was logging and part of that was fire wood for the oil mill, you can see some to the right I bought that morning.
These are my neighbors. The young boys are my logging crew.
The guy in the middle name is “Bulldog”, that is a hunk of letchon shoulder, he must have got there first!
And Bulldog, showing us why he really came, he was suggesting this should have been a long neck.
After this party, Bulldog won a race for barranguy captain. From there started a copra buyer business. A VERY nice guy, always happy. I selected this remote place because I wanted quiet, wanted to be around farmers, wanted to raise some animals, and it had storage for my little business. Neither I or my wife had a single relative there.
Think Philippines is friendly? Look how happy everybody is;
After we ate, all the women went inside and all the men went outside to chat.
