Hagnaya

Hagnaya and another great adventure in the Philippines.

|

My friend Larry Haydon had been in Bantayan Island on business as he is buying a small beach resort there.  He arrived in Hagnaya around 1:00 PM and we drove the short 15 or 20 minute drive from hour house down to pick him up as he wanted to visit with us. Along the way to our houes in Bogo City, we decided to take a short detour and show him Medellin area. The Koreans are in an ongoing project to build a gulf course and condos in a large area not too far from us and close to the City of Medellin. We drove around showing him the sugarcane fields and on the way back stopped off at a karaoke and barbeque stand. We noticed a large very long cable around 10″ diameter being dragged out of the water and went over to see what it was. I did,’t realize it but I was standing next the the Mayor of Medellin Ricardo Ramirez. I spoke to him and we struck up a conversation. Later he asked us if we wanted to go for a ride in his American style boat up the river near where Mariainne’s land is. He said few people from this area ever see this river. We rode right past Marianne’s land and could see it from the water.  That was a lucky move for us and we got a nice boat ride out of it. He said he had several Americans in his office who are Advisers to him. Wouldn’t that be great to end up an advisory to the mayor. What about Adviser to Tourism in Medellin?

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to call home, this is truly it. Very little crime, Plenty of Foreigners living here. They have every thing you need right here and in Bogo City not far away. The ocean is very near as you can see from the photos.  If you are in the area please consider taking a look at this quaint little place up at the northern end of the island of Cebu, and tell Mayor Ramirez I sent you.

The photos below are of Hagnaya which is the pier that goes to Bantayan Island and Sta Fe. Beach resort and Bogo City, Cebu Philippines. After that some of Medellin City and Larry then some of the river boat ride with the mayor.

Large 10″ diameter cable being dragged out of the water was buried 10 feet down by a Japanese Company that used it for a power test. The company said they had no use for it after the test was completed and that Medellin Mayor could recover it if he wanted. Since it has a lot of copper in it the city is recovering that from the huge cable.
