    1. @Dr. G. Moore LOL!!!! Weston Price’s theories and research on this have been debunked DECADES ago. The Inuits he speaks of were riddled with cancer, Osteoporosis and heart disease even at a very young age. Frozen remains from 500 years before western contact have confirmed this. They have an appalling life-expectancy of just 44 years – the lowest of any people in the Americas. This is actually a huge improvement on their original life-expectancy of 25 years. Same extremely poor health outcomes are true of the other tribe he studied – the Masaai in Africa. Our bodies are designed to function on complex carbs – that glucose the main fuel for out bodies. Low carb diets have been scientifically PROVEN to drastically increase all-cause mortality, damage kidneys, arteries and digestive organs. They also cause muscle -loss. In short, the diet you propose is insane and highly damaging to health in the long or even medium term.

    2. @Metal Guru That’s correct. Many individuals carefully consider environmental exposures of many sorts; but most oxidative stressors are actually dietary, and an effective eating plan minimizes most of them. But I don’t consider Dan’s diet optimal.

      The only book you need to read regarding an eating plan to maximize health is Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price. Price (a polymath dentist) searched the world over and found populations thriving only when they relied on animal protein as the cornerstone of their eating plan. They reproduced perfectly generation after generation, and suffered almost none of the degenerative diseases common to modern cultures. Some of those populations fished, some of them hunted, and some of them raised livestock for meat and/or dairy — but they all relied on meat, fish, poultry, eggs or cheese.

      The corollary to Priceโ€™s thesis-observations was that those populations that relied largely on starches (particularly grains) suffered tooth decay, degenerative arthritis, et cetera —– Your search for the optimal eating plan need go no further than to study Priceโ€™s book.

      Restaurant eating presents a particular problem (seed oils, sugar and MSG). And Dan seems to be in a restaurant every hour or so with his ravenous mate.

      Address the essentiality of reducing carbs quantitatively, reducing high glycemic index carbs in particular, and eliminating fructose and n-6 FA as much as possible.
