We were planning to stay home today but the 12 hour brown out made it too uncomfortable. “Sir, you can use your office in the back.” Now THAT’s why I like this restaurant. @Bud Brown. – Retired in the Philippines. August 30, 2020

  1. Wow..that is very long hours with no electricity…in the desert, the longest we had was 4 hours in the middle of hot summer at 118 Β°F…it was bad..since after that we bought 2 portable generators for our window aircon and one for the refrigerator….since that brown out more after that…thank God…

Just go to the oceanside and cool down..

  2. I love your vlogs. Simple life but interesting, with great special effects. Keep em coming, please.
I was wondering: has anyone missed the turn and hit your gate/fence? It looks like it’s right at a turn in the road.

  3. ‘ The Birds’. I remember seeing that movie many years ago Bud, scary for those days. That small bird at your window looks mighty like a NZ Fantail, great little birds and very friendly towards humans. We had a generator as backup over on Cebu, sold it to our niece when we came back here 2015. I will be purchasing another when we return permanently in a few short years. i’m interested in a Honda 3500 Inverter Compact. Our niece still has our old PowerMate 2000, never uses it, probably doesn’t know how to start it, LOL.

  4. Brown out forces Browns out? lol Gotta love your channel Bud! That was my Favorite Mall in Dumaguete! City Mall and that neighborhood just down that road where you parked was my favorite neighborhood. Never saw a house there for sale or rent though during our stay. Good they made you use your OTHER office Bud. I like the 57 in the background better! Gabbys was a Great place with Great service but we never got the service you got! lol Thumbs up Bud! ALMOST made me want to return there BUT then I think of wearing a mask & shield for 22hrs on an airplane and say naw! ha ha ha

  5. You would think that, with Noreco II repairing things – for almost a whole day – brownouts would then be a thing of the past for Dumaguete. But this is the Philippines. And though they look like they’ve worked so hard, really, what we end up with is just another brownout next week.

  6. Thanks for the video.. yes a generator is noisy and I will have one after I arrive and find my house on the edge of the city preferably on the ocean.. when the brownout comes I will plug in my air conditioning unit my TV and refrigerator and shut the door so I will not hear the noise.. thanks for all the warnings so I will know what adjustments I have to make to keep my life comfortable.. thanks 😊

  7. Many years ago my wife and I spent a pleasant sunday enjoying the sea breeze along the bulavard because of a power outage while we were visiting family. Glad to see some things don’t change. That was almost 20 years ago.
