  1. Looks great, wish i was there. Also looks like hardly anyone had masks on and not worried about coronavirus so maybe Thailand government is telling truth about low number of cases

    1. Foreigner Joe i think the offical report is 35 confirmed cases and most in Bangkok from China travelers so that seems about right. Hope it stays away so we can make our May trip

    2. Thank you πŸ™ I hope all is well with you guys. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how accurate this info is, but I was told that there are three confirmed cases here in Bangkok. A gentlemen and his wife came back from being in Japan and he went to the doctor on the 23rd from feeling ill 😷 but forgot to mention that he was in Japan. He was diagnosed today with the corona virus after going back to the doctor. All the best!

  2. Very good Joe, couldn’t help having that sinking feeling when I saw the lovely boat stuck in the sand.
That Festival looked amazing did you guys strike it lucky with the time or did you know that it was on?
I really enjoyed this thank you.

    1. Unlike western cultures, when you donate to the monks and red cross etc then 100% goes there. No-one has their little fingers in the pie, they are Buddhist not capitalists.

  3. Wow medium size boat no insurance, and he just laughed,he knows that getting angry won’t make the situation better,I would go back and get the rear part of boat that’s where the expensive engines are, have fun Joe and Gift

    1. When I left they were still working on retrieving the rest of the boat including the engines. Thank you πŸ™ for watching my friend. All the best!

  4. You might have known by now thats the annual Red Cross charity festival (fund raising) ΰΈ‡ΰΈ²ΰΈ™ΰΈΰΈ²ΰΈŠΰΈ²ΰΈ” of the province. You and Gift.were lucky. Thanks Joe.

  6. That boat owner a bit cracked i think , but great example of saving face the Thai way . 2,000,000 bhat , well that’s only Β£48,000 and doesn’t seem to give a shit lol .

  7. Not a lot left of that poor lads boat but he was still laughing and smiling good for him pleased to see your all looking fit and well and enjoying your self’s lots of love to you all from the Stephenson family.

  8. What a great video Joe, so glad all you guys are having such a great time. I would have been really happy to win a rice cooker but a bike would have been better for sure! Hahaha!
Good for Klaus. I was going to eat one of those or try a beetle but I never saw any except in the frozen food section at Macro in Cha Am hahaha!!!
That’s a real shame for that guy who lost his boat. That’s about $65,500 in USD. And no insurance? What a loss. Really shows you something about Thai people that he was still smiling and laughing after such a loss.
Take care you two. Drive safe and Paul says hello to the both of you.

  9. Another great video with Klaus and Toon, they seem like very easy going people. Sucks about the guys boat, I had some scary times when living on mine but fortunately it never sank through 2 hurricanes, although I did wake up on the other side of the bay from where I anchored once. Try the sugarcane grubs they can taste like sweet cashews sometimes, but don’t eat the water bugs, they can be very bitter. Thanks for sharing, many blessings to you both πŸ™
    Cheers 🍻

    1. Thank you πŸ™ for sharing your boat experiences my friend. I’m not a huge fan of being out on the water, so no need for me to worry about sinking πŸ˜‚ All the best!

  10. Gifts lucky day and wins a rice cooker.
What a shame about the boat and no insurance too. Get a scuba diver to locate the other half . At least salvage the engines.

  11. You see (at the end) they have enough from America people, if you were french, swiss or german people they will welcome you like as if you were heroes ! lol πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ !!??

    1. @mma momo Most Thais couldn’t distinguish one Farang from the oother, let alone specific nationalities. All white people are the same. And more importantly, Thais don’t give sh…t about it. If you are a dick, you will be treated like one. Your statement is just your own perception and attitude. Learn more and broaden your view a bit more, SIR!

  12. Hi Joe and Gift the festival looked like a blast. You guys looked like the only 2 farong around. Congrats on the rice cooker and plates how long did u have to slept that around πŸ˜„ Anyway thanks for the video take care u guys. Jeffrey Stecher Henderson nevada

    1. Thank you πŸ™ my friend. We left shortly after winning the things. We really enjoyed the festivities, food, music and had a great time with Klaus and Toon. All the best!

  13. Joe: You have insurance on it?
    Thai man: Ah no..*laughs*
Lol. Must be a Thai thing cause I sure wouldn’t be laughing. Lol.
As always thanks for sharing and stay safe

  14. Was there Monday evening. Crowded at the festival. Lots of good food. Kind of funny that nobody at my hotel could explain what festival it was. Just that it’s an annual event. Prachuap Khiri Khan is well worth the visit. Will go for a longer stay next time 😎

  15. Wow can’t believe that guy is smiling after losing that nice boat. Gift should be dancing on that stage haha. All that food looks great. Interesting festival and congrats on the rice cooker

  16. Of course you know that’s going to happen next. Instead of calling it a lost and destroying it. They will clean it out and use it again. I had a friends car that got caught in a flood when I lived there and they just cleaned it out and gave it back to him. Of course after I told him. What was going to happen to the electronics and other parts of the car. He sold it. Feel bad for the other person that has it now..

  17. My husband wants to move to Thailand but I am reluctance because I am afraid of medical cost for him. He has Medicare plus BCBS . I have BCBS only. Do they accept our insurance in Thailand???

    1. I have Federal BCBS which I carried with me into retirement. My insurance covers me in many countries including Thailand. I recommend you contact your BCBS customer service representative and ask if you are covered in Thailand. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Stay safe! All the best!
